ATO Records and music supervisor Randall Poster ('Moonrise Kingdom,' 'Boardwalk Empire,' 'Rave on Buddy Holly') have joined forces to release 'Divided & United,' a two-disc set of Civil War songs brought to life through fresh interpretations by the pioneers, Hall of Famers and rising young stars of country, bluegrass, folk and beyond. The collection celebrates music deeply vital to the history and spirit of America in tribute to the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Each song offers a unique window on the past, with themes exploring race, identity and reconciliation in a manner that echoes profoundly today.

The tremendous talents on 'Divided & United' span several generations and genres. Combined they have won close to 200 GRAMMY Awards, numerous Country Music Awards and include Rock And Roll Hall of Famers, Country Music Hall of Famers and Bluegrass Hall of Famers.

The songs represent hope and loss, camaraderie and compassion, and the distinct voices of the North and South; born out of the specific battles and turning points, sentimental, parlor songs and spirituals of the period, songs that soldiers brought into battle with them, abolition and minstrel songs, and more.

This Frost poem has been an important and favorite one thru out my life.  I talk about in my recent musing...THE  ROAD LESS TRAVELED....I have heard poems read to music before and thought, how fitting it would be if I could do that with this poem and my own music.  This music  that you hear is my newest composition....A CELLO SOLILOQUY - OPUS 5.   You can find it on my musical musings section of my  website.   This music is played by Finale cello.  I will redo this, in the future,  when played my mine.  I hope you like my newest undertaking ....i sure learned a lot doing it :-)

Circles Around Me is Bush’s eighth solo album and sixth with Sugar Hill. The album is an aurally inspiring mix of bluegrass favorites and complementary new songs. “I don’t know why, but it felt right at this moment in my life to go back and revisit some things that I’ve loved all my life, which are bluegrass and, unapologetically, newgrass,” says Bush. “After all these years of experimenting —and there’s experimentation on this record too —I’ve come full circle.”

Produced by three-time Grammy winner Bush, the 14-song set includes appearances by Del McCoury, Edgar Meyer, Jerry Douglas and, thanks to the discovery of an old demo, New Grass Revival co-founder Courtney Johnson (posthumously). The album also employs the phenomenal talent of Bush’s band: Scott Vestal, Stephen Mougin, Byron House and Chris Brown.

"Caravan has what I consider to perhaps be one of the greatest opening songs to any album I have heard of late. "Red Sky" is a truly beautiful song, with beautiful lyricism and a wonderful darting fiddle courtesy of British folk star Seth Lakeman. The marrying of acoustic guitar and fiddle form the perfect accompaniment for Carus' vocals, a simple backing, but a powerful one nonetheless, with guitar and fiddle building to an emphatic crescendo which still continues to leave me breathless."
