I Don’t Wanna Be Alone

Hitting 2024 with a bang is LA’s finest Brazilian madman and all round bass connoisseur, Oxossi, who’s back on DDD with a two track dubstep special set to cause maximum damage wherever unleashed. 

‘Absolute weapon’ is a term that can be overused in the dubstep scene, but there’s no other way of describing lead track BaileX - with its moody intro exploding into a savage drop that is relentless, punishing and hypnotic simultaneously. 

The producer’s trademark hip-hop influenced beats, analogue flavoured synths and exquisite sound design are all encapsulated and executed with consummate skill. 

Pump Ya Fist is no less infectious, with the sonics stripped back and a more glitchy percussion pattern that paves the way for what is likely the grooviest bassline released on DDD this year. If there’s not a coordinated dance move to this tune, we’ll be disappointed.

DJ, singer and producer Mona Yim is releasing a four track EP on Diynamic titled „See Me".
The eponymous opening tune is a gentle affair, with shy arpeggiated bells, Mona's ethereal vocals over a cheeky bass line and drums.
„Want U" kicks it up a notch - the Housey groove will make you get your back up off the wall!
„Feel So" hypnotizes you like the patterns of smoke slowly moving through a room - just close your eyes and get lost.
And in „After Dark", she paints a picture like a Murakami novel - you are transported into a cozy Tokio bar with sombre golden lights and a mixologist that's hand-carving ice cubes into the most intricate shapes.

Returning for the eighteenth installment of its sought-after VA series, Purified Records delivers three new creations in Purified Fragments XVIII. Entering an epic sonic realm, LA-based producer Jono Stephenson blends progressive and powerful sounds in ‘Pathfinder’. Dutch producer Wouter Achterberg soars high in his melodic offering ‘Fool Me’ and Chicago’s FJ9 closes the compilation with his magnetic instrumental cut ‘Echos of the Soul’. 

The Fragment XVIII artwork features a striking image of a squadron of Mobula rays, captured by Daniel Nicholson. Mobula rays are often referred to as “flying rays” due to their remarkable ability to breach out of the water, sometimes soaring several feet into the air before splashing back down. This behavior is thought to serve multiple purposes, such as communication, mating, or ridding themselves of parasites. They are known for their large aggregations, where hundreds of individuals come together. Mobula rays have a peculiar mouth structure, with the upper and lower parts of their jaws protruding like a pair of "horns." These mouth extensions may help funnel plankton-rich water into their mouths during feeding. They are listed as vulnerable according to the IUCN. Organizations like The Manta Trust are focused on research, education, and conservation efforts to protect manta rays and their close relatives worldwide. 

Located on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, Daniel Nicholson is one of the globe’s most prominent professional underwater photographers. He seeks to share the beauty and magic of the underwater world to inspire conservation and change.
