If there were a set of commandments for the Honey & Bass blog, one of the first would be 'thou shalt feature new Rarefied releases in some capacity as is deserved'. So here we are with the twelfth edition of my favourite label with a fresh face, Shu. And not only that, but today we have the pleasure of premiering one of the tracks from this raw, triple a-side EP, 'MK2'!

Throughout the three tracks, Shu perfectly balances his clear creative inspiration of sci-fi sampling and spacey constructions, but retains a murky darkness that's deserving of a spot on the ever growing and spellbinding Rarefied roster.

This is the first upload of 2020 and what a special way to enter the new year with a rip of my track with my good friend S.H.E.N from Mala's show in the Basement on Worldwide fm from 14.09.19! 

I've always looked up to Mala, ever since i first heard his music. It was Alicia over 10 years agoand now to have him playing one of my tracks with a best friend really means the world and is a testament to how far we've both come.

Massive ups to @Maladmz for the play! Salute! 

The track it's self is using a sample from a reinactment of Socrates the apology. Supposidly the wisest man on the planet so thought we would share the knowledge through music. Hope you enjoy it :)

As the Honey & Bass Sessions return from a slight hiatus, it was only right to bring in one of my favourite DJs to land on my radar for a while. Nestled in the mountains of Alberta, Canada, Marissa aka Howl is not only an appreciated supporter of the blog but also a talented selector herself. From becoming one of the pillars in her local scene to recently opening for king of the Wave Sorsari, it's a great pleasure to have her on board! 
Howl brings a bumper 80 minutes of eclectic bass music. Journeying through both light and dark areas of Dubstep, to areas of Wave and Grime, we're taken on a roller coaster of emotions that at times become rather hypnotic. As well as reaching for some names familiar to the blog like @Glumeuk & @Phossauk, @Detusound, @Maessounds & @SBKdubs, she also introduces new names to the blog such as @Yedgar and @gloomysounds. Enjoy the ride!
