I had such a great time playing for Disco Bizarre at KitKat Club; honestly one of the most fun nights I’ve had in ages, spinning so many of my favorite disco records. 

I don’t usually do this, but since quite a few people asked about a recording of my set, and since there wasn’t one from that night, I decided to recreate it using my flashdrive history. Same tunes, same energy: captured as live as possible on my home setup to keep that original vibe alive.

Bonnie Spacey is a French DJ and producer based in Berlin, deeply connected to electronic music from an early age. After learning piano and guitar as a child, her path naturally led to the decks, where she channels her energy and hypersensitivity into powerful, emotional sets. Her sound is characterized by unique contrasts and combinations, with a foundational interest in organic instrumentation and a keen ear for the deeper shades of Disco, House, Techno, and Electro clash, seamlessly blended in both her productions and DJ sets. Dance floor oriented and emotionally driven, her sets are designed to connect, move, and energize. As a dedicated producer, she works relentlessly in the studio, crafting tracks that have found a home on respected labels like Exploited, Jeahmon!, Phisica, and Lumière Noire. In 2019, she created Critical Monday, kicking things off with “Don’t,” a debut track supported by Dixon and Jennifer Cardini. Rooted in the dancefloor and driven by joy, Critical Monday blends indie dance with playful energy — music for bodies and open hearts.

The Darker Side of Disco is a radioshow hosted by Reyk. In the monthly show he will showcase Disco influenced music with a darker twist. It will feature the latest releases and timeless classics from genres like Italo Disco, Indie Dance, Dark Disco, some trance vibes and everything in between

I’m currently traveling in Amman, where I’ll be playing at Hobtape x Plastik. So, there’s no spoken intro for this month’s episode. Still, I wanted to share this episode with you right away. It was a spontaneous recording I made while on the move.The mix blends some of my favorite darker tracks with melodic ones. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it. Franz Scala’s sets are as diverse as the music he curates as label head of Slow Motion. Weaving smoothly between Italian Dance, Psychedelic Disco and Proto House, Franz quickly turns the dance floor into a vignette-tainted retro nostalgia rave fueled only by his music. Born in Italy and now a resident of Berlin for a decade Franz has his roots in noise rock and elettronica but was led by the record collectors passion into acquiring a taste for modern and not so modern dance floor music. He frequently inspires dancers in clubs all over Europe with his eclectic blend of spacey House, New Wave, Italo and Acid speckled with hints of Electro and Chicago House. Aside from producing on his own imprint, he has releases on World Unknown, Bordello A Parigi, Bahnsteig 23, Tusk Wax, Mechatronica or Discodromo´s Cocktail d’Amore Music. Franz is link to many events around the german capital such as the monthly Wrong Era, Italian Dance Wave and Italorama night in Panorama Bar, Magic Waves or New Dance Fantasy Festival. Beside long time collaboration with Sameheads he is regular dj at Griessmuhle and Salon zur Wilden Renate. In 2013 he joined Dimitri SoEmotional in the “Studio Luce” project.
