Lithuanian National Anthem for Symphony Orchestra

The Maid of the Mist in an arrangement for solo Cornet (Trumpet, Flugel, Baritone, Euphonium TC) & Wind Dectet of a fun light piece creating a great showpiece for the cornet. It is named after the sight-seeing boats for tourists in Niagara Falls. Set as a polka, there is much opportunity for the soloist to display quick fingers and light triple tonguing.

To create a clean new edition, dynamics and articulations were made more consistent in the parts. Counter melodies were added to enhance the arrangement.

American composer and Cornet player Herbert L. Clarke was one of the first soloists to combine a pyrotechnic technique with a lush, romantic sound. His virtuoso-with-a-heart' style set the standard for Cornet (and later Trumpet) players for the next several generations. He, along with Jean Baptiste Arban and Frank Simon, is considered to be one of the finest Cornetists in history. Many of Clarke's compositions are still regularly performed, including: 'The Maid of the Mist', 'Sounds of the Hudson', 'The Bride of the Waves', 'Stars in a Velvety Sky', 'From the Shores of the Mighty Pacific', 'The Debutante and Southern Cross'. 'The Maid of the Mist' was composed ca. 1912 and is one of about 50 pieces Clarke wrote to display his virtuosity in concerts. 'Maid of the Mist' is the name of a tourist boat that visitors to Niagara Falls can ride to view the falls up-close.

Béla Kéler (13 February 1820 - 20 November 1882) was a Hungarian composer of romantic music period and orchestral conductor. Béla Kéler was born as Albert Paul Keler (Adalbert Paul von Keler). He is also known in Hungarian as Kéler Béla. He was born on 13 February 1820 in City of Bártfa, Sáros County, Kingdom of Hungary, Austrian Empire (present-day Bardejov, Slovakia), and died on 20 November 1882 in Wiesbaden, German Empire. He was active in Hungary, Austria and Germany.

An 20 minute composition for Concert, Symphonic Wind band.

The Crusades Suite is a musical depiction of the journey of the Crusader's in 1096 (after Pope Urban the Second spoke at The Council of Clermont) from Europe to The Holy Land in 1095; to liberate the Holy City from Muslim rule.

Along the way, they suffered starvation, desertion and many battles were fought with Muslim Militia such as the Seljuk Turks. The crusaders could be lethal too, and slaughtered Muslims & Jews in Jerusalem.

The work features various modes such as the Phyrgian, Lydian & Dorian, creating interesting melodies and harmony. Listen out for the quartal harmony and the canon.

Players are stretched in terms of range and tessitura. Some techniques may be new to players such as the growling on the woodwind and trombones.

Piccolo/Flutes 1 & 2, Oboes 1 & 2 (Cor Anglais), Bassoon & Contrabassoon, Eb Clarinet, Clarinet 1, 2 & 3, Eb Alto Clarinet, Bb Bass Clarinet & Bb Contrabass Clarinet, Eb Alto Saxophones 1 & 2, Bb Tenor Saxophone & Eb Baritone Saxophone. Horns 1 & 3, Horns 2 & 4, Bb Trumpets 1, 2 & 3, C Trombone 1, C Trombone 2 & Bass Trombone, C Euphonium & C Tuba, 5 Timpani, Mallets 1: Orchestral Bells, Xylophone, Crotales, Mallets 2: Chimes, Tenor Drum, Percussion 1: Snare Drum, & Mark Tree, Percussion 2: Hand & Suspended Cymbals, Large Gong, Finger Cymbals (Tibetan Tingsha Bells), Tambourine, Triangle, Percussion 3: Bass Drum, Double Bass.

Percussion Requirements:

Apart from the standard concert band percussion of Snare drum, Cymbals (both Hand & Suspended), Bass Drum, Timpani & Mallet Percussion; there is a requirement for Crotales which are bowed, Tenor Drum, Mark Tree, Large Gong, Finger Cymbals and a large orchestral Bass Drum; challenging the players to cover all the parts; some of which may be new to the percussionists.

Crusades Suite (the) for Concert Band

Keith Terrett MMUS, FLCM, FVCM, FTCSM, FNMSM, BA (Open), DIP MUS, LRAM, LTCL, ARCM, ALCM, BBCM, CertNMSM, is an internationally acclaimed composer/arranger, brass & woodwind teacher; currently Director of Music & HOD Performing Arts at Pathways School Gurgaon  in India; the top private school in the Indian sub continent.
His speciality is National Anthems of the World. His popular national anthem arrangements have been performed & conducted by Herbert Thorson Blomsted & Semyon Bychkov with the New York & Czech Philharmonic & Prague Philharmonic Choir and 30 anthems have been recorded by the Orchestre National de France under conductor Jonas Ehrler. A flashmob Orchestra in Trafalgar Square in March 2022 also performed his poignant version of the Ukrainian National Anthem under the baton of Peter Liminov.

Keith has performed with music legends such as Baruka Tau-Matagu  – keyboards & Ben Ben Hakalitz  – drums (Yothu Yindi),  Englebert Humperdick, Jesse Norman, Kenny Baker, Don Lusher, Geoffrey Brand, Martin Mailman, Sir John Pritchard and BBC Symphony Orchestra, Sir David Wilcocks & the Bach Choir for the annual Bach Xmas Concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, and performed on Trumpet for the  ITV show ''This is your Life'' for the 85th birthday of Sir George Solti, and appeared on a chat show for BBC Wales with Lord Tonypandy; and on the popular radio 2 ''Friday Night is Music Night'', with the Kneller Hall Band  under Frank Renton with the BBC Concert Orchestra.

During his time in Papua Guinea as Principal Director of Music & Chief Instructor, he took the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary Band on tours of Australia in 1996, and to Japan in 1998; raising funds for the PNG Red Cross through a series of charity concerts.

For a future upcoming Olympics/Commonwealth/Pacific Games, Keith has rearranged and edited all 196 national anthems for the winners’ ceremonies,
