NYC DJ Keith Savage makes his EP debut with “For What It Was”, a markedly personal expression and symphonic experience. This audio journal of sorts is speckled with up-tempo peaks like “Wrong Reasons” and “What Would I Do“ and accented with more melodic rhythm and blues tracks like “Rising” and “Better”. While “Rising” is an astute proclamation of the journey to self-actualization, the latter plays like a sexy ballad delivered with sultry precision by Ashgod. You’re given something for every mood in this EP (even a high energy dance track, “Nothing But Time”), all with the undercurrent of a Trap heartbeat for a round and cohesive presentation. The mélange of sounds here prove successful at reflecting the multi-faceted personality of Savage - making FWIW much more than just an introduction.
