Antiqcool - Girl In A Room - Acoustic - BBC Radio 6 Mixtape

Echodrone’s 2015 release, Five, heralds a sea change for the band in many ways. Musically, Five arrives at a destination first set by founding members Eugene Suh and Brandon Dudley, mixing reverb-drenched guitars with glitchy electronics and dreampop vocals to create a coherent mélange of tracks aimed to satisfy aficionados of shoegaze and IDM alike. Five also represents the next phase of Echodrone, realized fully only with the influences and songwriting input of new members Mike Funk, Jim Hrabak and Rachel Lopez.
Throughout Five, Echodrone explores the sounds of transitions. From arranging evocative melodies into unique pop song arrangements to applying standard rock band formats into 21st century workflows, Five takes everything Echodrone cares about musically and carries it into new territory.
Five is an auditory journey that mirrors the life of five individuals coming together virtually to create the fifth album of Echodrone. It is the cathartic soundtrack that maps the human experience through their eyes, as the quintet transitions from old jobs to new jobs, old friendships to new friendships, and old loves to new ones. To the band, Five is the perfect blend of shoegaze and electronic elements. They hope it is for you as well.

This is the longest song I've written for my project and, ironically, it took the least time to write and record. The performance is not perfect, but considering the whole thing was written and recorded in under four hours during a very busy week, I am quite pleased with it. The lyrics are based on the Alfred Tennyson poem, "Crossing the Bar."

Meltdown

The first three tracks follow the steps of his second album Waves and the tracks were to be included on his 3rd full length for 2010 but in the creative process the music developed from progressive Dream Pop Shoegaze like on his other albums (Rumskib, Ferris Wheel Make, Waves) to Psych Pop. So, these tracks were saved for this special vinyl only EP release.

The last track is a beautiful ambient guitar track calming you down nicely after the first explosive rush.

A must have for fans of the new wave of Dream Pop, Shoegaze, Chill Wave.

The 3rd full length release by the Cambridge, MA born Dane Keith Canisius flirts with multiple genres simultaneously -- Chill Wave, Shoegaze, Dreampop and Psychedelia and goes beyond these genre specifics.

Keith's earlier albums (Rumskib, Ferris Wheel Make out, Waves) have a strong Shoegaze and Dreampop approach with the Cocteau Twins and My Bloody Valentine aesthetics right upfront. On This Time It's Our High he moves closer to his own thing; making the album harder to define genre-wise as he blends so many elements together with elegance and without compromise. The result is a surreal, mood elevating sound combined with a fine pop sensibility that makes it easy to understand.

You could say that artists like Animal Collective, Ariel Pink, Deerhunter &amp; Panda Bear influenced some production elements on this album but at the same time it does not sound like those artists. It sounds like Keith Canisius.
