Created by David Duriez in 1999, Brique Rouge is french underground institute on a mission to keep the true spirit of House alive. Acid, Chicago and New York House, or the power of Belgian, Dutch or Detroit Techno, Brique Rouge has been churning out releases for 26 years without ever sinking into cynicism, nostalgia or parody. Open minded, Brique Rouge has established itself as a key French label for the distribution of emerging and creative artists already known or totally unknown, from all over the world, who draw their inspiration from the roots of the genre, but also pursue the search for new vibes. David Duriez is known for making House and proper underground electronic music since the beginning of the 90's - 30 years in the music industry, founder and keeper of the [briquerouge] label, home of the best french electronic renegades since 1999, David Duriez is lurking in the shadow of the french Electronic scene, keeping it real and true. Artist in various styles of music, dj and innovator, he's always in search of new ways to distribute and value Electronic Music and always a step ahead. Definitely not just one for the hype.

Since 1994, David released over a hundred records under his name, tens under various pseudonyms, outputs mainly vinyl on the most renowned labels like 2020Vision, Ovum, Systematic, Pokerflat, F Communication, Mobilee, Under the Counter, Stickman, Classic Music Company, Crosstown Rebels, The End, etc .. (the list is long, see Discogs.com to be convinced) and as many remixes for some of the greatest (think Moby, DJ Hell, Telex, Random Factor, Johnny Fiasco, Paul Johnson, Kenny Hawkes or Mr.C).

Founder of the label Brique Rouge in 1999 and a whole galaxy of other labels, he participated in the creation of internationally recognized labels such as Robsoul, Freak n'Chic or Rz Muzik. David has carved out his own niche with his pigeonhole defying Brique Rouge label, and his helping to redefine underground electronic music. Brique Rouge has released deep house, jacking house, tech-house, acid house, vocal anthems and much more... Definitely a label for open-minded people, not stuck in one genre of House.

Hunter/Game

Balance is the key to Hunter/Game's music. It's part of growing up in Milan - a sophisticated urban centre for film, fashion and art, but whose inhabitants relish the contrast of spending reflective time in the nature that surrounds the city. Having been part of Milan's techno scene since its first days, the duo of Emmanuele Nicosia and Martino Bartola now find themselves equally influenced by the city and by nature - making music that harnesses the urban propulsion of techno within an introspective, thoughtful take on melody.
It started in 2010 with the "Just This" parties. Hunter/Game's own party, held in secret locations round the city, Just This has made Milan a compulsory stop for the touring electronic artist - from early shows that focused on local acts like Mind Against and Tale Of Us, growing to far bigger events with names like Dixon, Seth Troxler, Koze, Tennis and other DJs in Hunter/Game's worldwide scene. And alongside the parties, the duo have released on Innervisions, Rumours, Last Night on Earth, My Favourite Robot, Hot Creations and Dynamic - with a Kompakt release in early 2015 - and each EP has earned more fans for their lush, deep-grooved analogue soundscapes.
In 2015, alongside a heavy Europe and North American touring schedule, Hunter/Game will open the doors of the new Just This vinyl label. Distributed by Kompakt, the label opens with the leftfield electronic dance stylings of Danish-Icelandic band Primal, a Hunter/Game release, and another to come within five months. With a stylistic approach that leans toward Hunter/Game's own, Just This releases are aimed at the discerning dancefloor, but are as influenced by the wild ambition of 80s electronic acts as by contemporary analogue production techniques.
But even with this worldwide success, Milan is still the base. Having painstakingly helped grow the local scene, Hunter/Game see themselves as responsible for keeping the energy of Just This going. As other DJs have moved away - and despite Hunter/Game's regular slots at key international clubs like Fabric, The Edge, Warung, Output, Wilde Renate and Studio 80 - the duo see that combination of urban and country, and sophistication and lucidity, as critical to their inspiration and their future experiments with sound...

Hunter Game - Genesis (Ripperton Remix)

West Coast new boys Manjumasi, an imprint founded by Mark Slee and Atish, continues its journey into the unknown this December bringing yet another fresh EP to the fore. After releases from label co-founder Mark Slee himself and NYC talent Brian Cid, the rotation falls local once more as they welcome San Francisco producer Zack Yakovlev AKA R.Fentz to the family. Some will be familiar with Yakovlev's previous work as part of Bells & Whistles. The new EP, featuring two original cuts and two remixes, with Gab Rhome and Canson on duty, offers a clear indication of a bright future. He has crafted an a delectable duo, a genuine electronic experience and you can check 'Coming Home' from the release exclusively on When We Dip today.

They're focused as ever, aiming at dancefloors worldwide and ready to rock hard with their latest musical outing.

At First, Animal Trainer are „Lost“ on the dancefloor, providing a fine high quality arrangement of well spatial TechHouse for endless late night sessions whilst sticking close to their set cosmic theme with warm floating synth backings, wide range vintage melodies and a hefty set of additional percussion hits that adds a rather unheard of feel and an elements of surprise to any advanced DJ set these days.

First released on their No Stoppin EP in 2003, M.A.N.D.Y.'s 'Tonite' now gets a fresh remaster for 2020 with huge new remixes from Rebolledo, Pete Tong, Maga, President Bongo, m.O.N.R.O.E. and dubspeeka.

Opening up the package in fantastic fashion is Rebolledo, the long time Kompakt artist and original Pachanga Boy. His Collector's Edition mix is a smooth and seductive one with lush synths and nimble grooves all working you into a trance. Radio 1's vital veteran and enduring global tastemaker Pete Tong then steps up with a rare remix that shows why he is such a widely respected icon. He goes for a more prickly version which is lit up with big chords and has plenty of kinetic drum energy and epic breakdowns. Next up, French producer Maga's musical project has turned into a real journey through melodic, organic and minimalistic patterns that cast a fine spell. His version is built on a bass guitar riff that loops beneath cleverly treated vocals and becomes magically psychedelic.

Iceland's President Bongo was a founder of the cult GusGus band who now works solo on the Radio Bongo label and has his own distinctive sound. Evidence of that comes here with a superbly spooky version that has vocal chants shimmering about the mix and races late into the night on an indie licked rhythm. Then it is to Miami's m.O.N.R.O.E., who has been a regular guest on this label over the years and mixed America Gets Physical back in 2018. His version is the deepest of the lot, with subtle claps, atmospheric samples, bird calls and humid grooves that lock you in. Bristol techno producer dubspeeka always brings the UK sound and sense of grimy soul to his music, and he does so again here with a hard hitting, dubbed out yet dreamy rework full of class. Last of all is a fresh remaster of the original version which sounds as crisp and brain soothingly clean as it did when first released.

This top tune is set to be a smash for a second time round thanks to these vital remixes.
