About the album:

"Lost and Found" is a moving and finely detailed album by PNFA, the musical project of German artist Wolfram Gruss. Known for his reflective and atmospheric style, Gruss delivers a collection that blends downtempo, chillout, and trip hop with cinematic and electro-acoustic elements, resulting in a rich, immersive sound.

Most of the tracks are instrumental, unfolding slowly through layered textures, ambient tones, and subtle rhythmic patterns. Night-time adventure edges over the horizon, the twinkling lights of a distant ferris wheel promise exhilaration and excitement, the city stretches out chaotic light trail patterns in fluorescent twilight dusk; motes of dust refracting glorious shades of vermillion across the changing night sky. The rich aural tapestry of sound in constant motion sees broken beats and rhythmic patterns shape sonic architecture as the jagged skyline motifs standing out against yielding aural textures. Overheard fragments of conversation create their own melodic flow in summer’s café culture; repetitive strains stutter and stretch in innovative and unexpected direction as the unknown quantity of a sprawling metropolis breathes into life via a voyage of invention.

STRAY THEORIES We Are So Delicate

With 9 tracks, Matter is one of the most challenging projects I ever worked on: much of the time I spent working on the album, I've been listening and relistening to every track, shaping and tweaking every little detail and sound until I could feel the right vibe, the one which always represented Need a Name for me as the beginning of my musical journey, but mixed up with many technical aspects I managed to learn during the past years, also thanks to my work on Chasing Dreams, which allowed me to improve my artistic self-expression. 

Matter's melodies are pretty minimalistic, for the most part reminiscent of "Sizzling Plucks", the album that really defined Need a Name and its spacey and dreamy vibes, but with a maniacal cure for all the minimal details.
