🎹 Piano Day is an annual worldwide event founded by a group of likeminded people, takes place on the 88th day of the year – in 2019 it’s the 29th March – because of the number of keys on the instrument being celebrated.

Allay, the beloved Dutch chillout & downtempo composer, delivers on the promise of his name, as he offers us both a soothing and spiritually uplifting aural pilgrimage, courtesy of "Journey Of The Velvet Adorned Nomad," his debut album on our imprint. An ambitious undertaking, guided by a quest to seek beyond the mundane world and explore the unknown, the album showcases a dozen new collaborative works with a variety of fellow Silk Music label veterans (Jan Martin, Delectatio, Jani R, Skyknock, The Cynic Project, Skyline Drive, Narrow Skies, Rod V, ElDera, Andevour, Inuuro, and SineRider), as well as a pair of equally captivating solo works. By the time the album closes with the achingly beautiful "Journey's End," the listener has experienced myriad introspective moments, each offering the promise of both tranquility and transcendence.

‘Music for the Edge of an Island’ sees Abbott divert from his typically experimental electronic style to explore a more compositional approach centred around VST instruments. Rather than the usual themes of synthesis and improvisation, the album is lead by piano motifs, structured around emotive melodies and sparkling arrangements. The record began as a part of a soundtrack commission by producer / actor Jessica Hynes for her film ‘The Fight’ and ultimately became a fully-realised album. The film script had a coastal setting that created the record’s thematic idea: “I had this idea about being on the edge of England, almost ready to fall off a cliff into the sea but keeping your balance on the edge.”

Spellbinding Russian duo Modd are back with their 'Swallow’s Nest' EP, their latest extended play since 2018’s ‘Mesmerize Me’. Imbued with their characteristic laidback sound, the ‘Swallow’s Nest’ EP is beautifully melancholic. Using forest samples and a Zimmer-like chord progression, first up is title track ’Swallow’s Nest’. Picking up the tempo, ‘Ruskeala’ threads a soothing vocal amongst a bed of luscious, deep chords and warm vinyl kicks.
