London-based singer-songwriter Douglas Dare releases new EP, following on from his debut album Whelm. Named after album track Caroline and new track If I Knew I Were Alive, it also features remixes by fellow label mate Ryan Lee West aka Rival Consoles and Houndstooth’s own electronic producer Ross Tones aka Throwing Snow.
Caroline has always been a precious track for Douglas, one of the first tracks he recorded and a story in which he imagines his grandfather is writing to a loved one during the war. As the only song on his debut album that is stripped down to just his voice and piano playing, and it being a favourite amongst fans at his concerts, it was a natural choice as a first single.

Desert Sound Colony - Lose My Rhythm (STW Premiere)

Paris based Nocta Numerica promotes Electro, Disco, Italo and Acid Music according to it's Bandcamp page.
However, with the release of Hamburg's quadratschulz's Mini LP, "Not a Number", they might need to add Tech-Goth to that list. 
Opening track "Opportunity Cost" kicks in at about 140bpm and would not sound out of place on a dusty tape cassette of Detente era lost Coldwave classics or in little known but hugely influential Kit Kat Club in London in the 80s that played host to Soft Cell and Visage as well as being a den of amphetamine and cider.
As nostalgic as it might make the 80s Goth brigade feel, this is totally forward thinking, with an urgent booming bass, retro claps and just a hint of acid. Like Black Strobe or even Trisomie 21.  Call it Goth, call it techno, call it what you want. It's not a number.

The first of two multifaceted remix EPs out later this month, 'PINNED Up' realises the powerful dancefloor potential of Raunet's material and features contributions from the likes of Marcus Worgull, Bawrut and Lokier. @michael-mayer-kompakt heads up the release with a remix that unleashes the latent kinetic energy and emotive power of original album closer 'This City'. It went down an absolute storm when he dropped it at fabric the other month, and now you can listen to it above.

Kid Fonque has become a vital part of South African electronic music and club culture over the last 20 years. Uniquely accomplished in both influence and scope, he is an over-achiever in every one of his
roles; DJ, Producer Label Owner, Promoter and more recently, Radio Host.

Firmly established as a tastemaker in South Africa, Kid Fonque’s influence can be felt and heard in the music of the many artists he has helped nurture with his role as label manager of Africa’s seminal dance label Soul Candi Records and now his new label Stay True Sounds.

Kid Fonque’s talent is the type that refuses to acknowledge boundaries of any kind – be they genres or borders. The respect he is paid by the industry is a result of his no compromise attitude to playing and making music. Rather than following trends, Kid Fonque has always done things his own way. Importantly, every record he reaches for bares all the hallmarks of the Kid Fonque sound – a golden thread that ties all his sets together somehow.

Like a painter dabbing his brush into different hues, Fonque’s palette embraces everything from Bass and Broken Beats to Bossa Nova, Hip Hop and every shade of House – and with this open-minded approach, he’s been deconstructing dance floors at home and abroad for well over a decade. Over the last couple of years he’s played dates in Hong Kong, Dubai, the UK and Switzerland.

Kid Fonque recently started his own radio show called ‘Selective Styles’ on South Africa’s national radio station 5FM. Selective Styles has given Kid the platform to showcase the hidden talent from all over South Africa’s electronic music scene.   Playing House, Soul & Hip Hop from the local community while delving into international releases weekly.

2016 started with a Boiler Room set where he was asked to represent his newfound label ‘Stay True Sounds’ and got to share the platform with Jullian Gomes with a back-to-back set recorded and played in Cape Town’s Langa.

Whether he’s behind the decks, running Stay True Sounds, preparing for his weekly radio show or in studio making otherworldly music, Kid Fonque’s sonic adventures continue to fill dance floors and thrill earholes, pay attention!
