When I saw the flyer for the Captured Emotions Festival I thought two things: 1) wow, what a line up and 2) Hooj and Oliver Lieb is one hell of a combination! So I went digging for some older Hooj Choons tracks and Lieb tracks that I don't already have to try and create a mix that captures that mid to late 90s progressive trance / techno trance sound. This one starts off progressive with some well known Hooj tracks before getting into that heavier techno trance sound for the last hour or so. Hope you like it, feedback welcome. I started off listening to trance through a few Radio stations back in the 90’s which inspired me into mixing trance music for several years on Sound lab DLP’s then onto the Techy 1200’s I then progressed to Numark axis 9 for my first sample of digital before going onto CDJ’s around 2006, still playing classic trance vinyl and plenty of uplifting and driving modern day trance. Speed is a US Florida native who grew up NYC tri-state area and took on a liking to Trance at an early age of his youthful years. He got his first pair of decks at 16 and would travel to Satellite records shop in Manhattan to get releases he heard on his pc. As time went on he grew a passion for his art in turntable beat matching and was inspired by the likes of the well-known big artists in the genre of Progressive, Trance, & Breaks. Later on, SpeedRising met up with Richard Sander the label boss of Saturn3 Records where Richard signed Speed's first track, Rouge City.
