Matthias aka M.Age.Project lernte Dr. Christian Rätsch, den bekannten Ethnologen und Schamanismusexperten aus Hamburg, der in aller Welt schamanische Kulturen und deren ethnopharmakologischen, ethnomedizinischen und rituellen Gebrauch von Pflanzen und Pilzen erforscht hat, bei mehreren Seminaren kennen, woraus sich ein freundschaftlicher Kontakt entwickelte. Als sie im Verlauf eines privaten Treffens während der Pandemie im Sommer 2020 die Maya-Sprachaufnahmen für diesen Track aufzeichneten, konnte noch niemand ahnen, dass dieses gebündelte Erfahrungswissen aus der entlegenen Urwaldwelt der Lakandon*innen im Süden Mexikos, bei denen Christian drei Jahre gelebt hat, so schnell zu einem Vermächtnis werden würde.

Diese drei essentiellen Sätze auf Lakandon-Maya hat Christian uns mitgegeben:
• ki' ile tu' kabin - Sorgfältig siehe, wohin du gehst.
• ki' ibah awilik tech - Sorgfältig betrachte die Dinge, die du siehst.
• ki' känan ta bäh - Sorgfältig beschütze dich selbst.

Aus der rhythmischen Gestalt des ersten Satzes hat Matthias alle Kernelemente seines organisch federnden Slow-Psy-Tracks abgeleitet und mit der Übertragung der Sprachaufnahme per Formant-Motion-Funktion in seinen Korg-Radias-Synthesizer einen einzigartigen, geheimnisvollen Sound-Trip kreiert.
Andreas Balicki, AmuAmu, Pay Kusten und Ex-Mono erkunden mit ihren unverwechselbaren Remixen weitere Klangräume in den unendlichen Weiten zwischen Natur und Klangsynthese.

Christian Rätsch starb am 17. September 2022 unerwartet an den Folgen eines Magengeschwürs.
Mit größtem Respekt danken wir ihm für seine außergewöhnliche Arbeit und seine freundliche Zusammenarbeit mit uns. 
Ebenso bedanken möchten wir uns bei den Lakandon*innen, die in freundschaftlicher Unterweisung ihr unschätzbares Wissen über das Leben im Regenwald mit Christian geteilt haben, damit es der Welt erhalten bleibe.
Im Sinne von Christians Lebensmotto „Liebe das Leben!“ wollen wir nun mit unserer Musik die „Essenz“ zusammen mit euch auf der Tanzfläche weitertragen!

M.Age.Project Feat. Christian Rätsch - Ki' Ile Tu' Kabin (Andreas Balicki Remix)

Matthias aka M.Age.Project first met Dr. Christian Rätsch, the well-known ethnologist and shamanism expert from Hamburg, who has researched shamanic cultures and their ethnopharmacological, ethnomedicinal and ritual use of plants and mushrooms all over the world, at some seminars, from which a friendly contact developed. 

When they made the Mayan language recordings for this track in a private meeting during the pandemic in the summer of 2020, no one
could have guessed that this bundled wisdom from the remote jungle world of the Lacandon people in southern Mexico, among whom Christian lived for three years, would so soon become a legacy.

Christian gave us these three essential phrases in Lakandon Maya:

• ki' ile tu' kabin – Carefully watch where you are going.
• ki' ibah awilik tech – Carefully observe the things you see.
• ki' känan ta bäh – Carefully protect yourself.

Matthias derived all the core elements of his organic bouncy slow psy track from the rhythmic structure of the first phrase and, by transferring the voice recording via Formant Motion function into his Korg Radias synthesizer, he created a unique mysterious sound trip.
With their signature remixes, Andreas Balicki, AmuAmu, Pay Kusten and Ex-Mono explore further sonic realms in the vast depths between nature and sound synthesis.

Christian Rätsch passed away unexpectedly on September 17, 2022, as a result of a stomach ulcer.With the utmost respect, we thank him for his extraordinary work and his kind collaboration with us.

Likewise, we would like to thank Christian's Lakandon friends and teachers who shared their invaluable knowledge of the jungle with him so that it may be preserved for the world.

In the spirit of Christian's motto "Love life!" we now want to carry on the "essence" with our music together with you on the dance floor!
