m ë x presents "Quietly and secretly into the late hour" Afterhour Sounds Podcast

Unsere Nummer 210 kommt von einem jungen lateinamerikanischen Künstler, den ich jetzt seit knapp zwei Jahren verfolge und mich immer wieder mit seinen abwechslungsreichen Sets beeindruckt hat: Nämlich m ë x  (https://soundcloud.com/meaex).

Als Mitglied des bekannten Wiener Projekts "Heimlich (https://soundcloud.com/heimlichaufsc)"  kümmert er sich mit Gleichgesinnten vor allem um die Förderung von Kunst, Kultur und entschleunigter, elektronischer Musik in Wien. Aber auch als DJ ist er schon reichlich herumgekommen. Neben egtl. allen Wiener Clubs, war er auch bereits in diversen Berliner Clubs und auch der Fusion zu Gast. Zudem ist er ein Teil des Produzententrios https://soundcloud.com/willezumwahnsinn.

In seinem Sound lässt er sich dabei nicht in eine Schublade packen. Nein, das will und braucht er auch gar nicht, Irgendwo zwischen Down- und MIdtempo zieht er gekonnt verschiedene, musikalische Register. Egal ob Ketapop, Deep House, Neo- und Jetlagdicco.... es kommt immer ein wunderbar harmonisches Sammelsurium heraus, das man nicht missen möchte. 
So auch bei unserem neusten Podcast mit dem Namen "Quietly and secretly into the late hour", der im Grunde alles punktgenau beschreibt. Neben einem gewohnt entspannten Beginn drückt er dezent, aber zielgerichtet immer mehr aufs Gas ohne dabei zu übertreiben. Angereichert wird alles mit einer bunten Mischung aus teils sphärischen, verspielten und melodischen Tracks. Dabei wird die Zielrichtung im weiteren Verlauf des Sets immer klarer: Nämlich die entspannte Afterhour. Und wie!

m ë x, Danke für deine Hingabe und für das Zusammenstellen und aufnehmen dieses besonderen Sets. Dich habe ich bisher noch in keinem Set so gehört. Bitter mehr davon.
Ich bin mir sicher, dass die Welt noch viel von dir hören wird.

Our number 210 comes from a young Latin artist I've been following for almost two years now, who has always impressed me with his diverse sets: Namely m ë x (https://soundcloud.com/meaex).

As a member of the well-known Viennese project "Heimlich (https://soundcloud.com/heimlichaufsc)", he and like-minded people are primarily concerned with promoting art, culture and decelerated, electronic music in Vienna. But also as a DJ he has been around a lot. In addition to egtl. all Viennese clubs, he has also been a guest in various Berlin clubs and Fusion. Besides he is a part of https://soundcloud.com/willezumwahnsinn.

In his sound he does not let himself be pigeonholed. No, he doesn't want to and he doesn't need to. Somewhere between down- and middtempo he skilfully pulls out different musical stops. No matter if Ketapop, Deep House, Neo- and Jetlagdicco.... it always comes out a wonderfully harmonious smorgasbord that you don't want to miss. 
This is also the case with our latest podcast called "Quietly and secretly into the late hour", which basically describes everything spot on. In addition to the usual relaxed beginning, he presses the gas discreetly but purposefully more and more without overdoing it. Everything is enriched with a colorful mixture of partly spherical, playful and melodic tracks. As the set progresses, the goal becomes clearer and clearer: namely, the relaxed afterhour. And how!

m ë x, thank you for your dedication and for putting together and recording this special set. I haven't heard you like this in any set before. Bitter more of the same.
I'm sure the world will be hearing a lot more from you.

There was a time when only fast and hectic sound waves sweetened our ears. But then everything was suddenly different: The speed of sound was drastically reduced and the beats became more chilled. The atmosphere at the parties changed and our taste in music was reinvented. If we look back over the years, one thing can be said: We love downtempo and are very grateful for the acquaintance.

A big thank you goes out to @meaex from the @heimlichaufsc collective for this wonderful set. It suits our taste exactly and we feel like dancing.

Meisterleistung

Die moderne Arbeitswelt mit der 5 Tage und 40 Stunden Woche ist für viele zur alltäglichen Normalität geworden. Von Montag bis Freitag geht der Durchschnittsbürger einer mehr oder weniger befriedigenden und sinnstiftenden Tätigkeit nach. So richtig abschalten und das Leben genießen kann man erst zu Beginn des Feierabends oder am Wochenende. Dann werden aufgeschobene Hobbys und soziale Kontakte gepflegt und Zeit für sich selbst eingeräumt. Doch die zeitlichen  Ressourcen sind begrenzt. Viele alltägliche Aufgaben, wie z. B. Erledingungen für den Haushalt, kochen der auch putzen, bleiben unter der Woche allzu leicht auf der Strecke. Versäumnisse dieser Art wollen und müssen ebenfalls nachgeholt werden. Das Leben im Jahr 2022 erfordert definitiv die Fähigkeit zur Selbstorganisation- und Planung. Wer am Arbeitsleben partizipiert, sollte sowohl resilient im Umgang mit Stress, als auch flexibel in seiner Zeitgestaltung sein. Im besten Fall erledigt man keinen Job, sondern geht seiner Berufung nach. Eben diese zu finden und den Mut aufzubringen ihr zu folgen, benötigt Charakterstärke, Ausdauer und Willenskraft. Doch wo ein Wille, da auch ein Weg. 

m ë x gibt heute einen verhältnismäßig außergewöhnlichen Podcast zum Besten. Dieser Künstler hat einen ganz eigenen Stil, welchen man so nicht alle Tage zu hören bekommt. Die Tracks sind basslastig, inkludieren hypnotische Melodie Pattern und sind garniert mit dezenten Percussions und ungewöhnlichen FX Soundeffekten. Die Musik versetzt den Geist in einen tranceartigen Zustand und lässt die Seele getrost aufatmen.

Alles beginnt sich nun zu wandeln: die Stadt hüllt sich nun immer mehr in kühles Grau ein. Die Tage werden kürzer und im Verborgenen geschehen die Wunder. In der dunklen Nacht blitzen immer wieder bunte Farbnuancen auf, die uns in ein grosses Staunen versetzen. 

Diesen Nuancen geben wir uns völlig hin und lassen uns von ihnen tragen, wo immer sie uns auch hinführen mögen. Eines dieser verborgenen Wunder kommt diesmal von Janoma. 

Gekonnt führt er uns durch eine magische Welt voll gepackt mit zauberhafter Musik. Wir träumen und schweben durch ein farbenfrohes Grau.

Es ist kalt geworden draußen. Ein eisiger Wind weht uns entgegen. Die Hände sind tief in die Taschen der Jacke vergraben und Mütze & Schal geben gerade noch so viel vom Gesicht frei, dass man schemenhaft erkennen kann, wohin wir uns eigentlich bewegen. 

Hastig laufen wir unserem Ziel entgegen. Ein Druck auf die Glocke der Türnummer 11 und uns wird geöffnet. In der warmen Wohnung angekommen, erwarten uns bunt bemalte Gesichter. 

Ein Lächeln hier, eine Umarmung dort. Alles ist mit farbigen Stoffen & blinkenden Lichtern dekoriert und im Hintergrund läuft unsere Lieblingsmusik.

Trommeln versetzen unsere Körper in Schwingung, während psychedelische Melodien unser Herz entzücken. Wir haben solche Musik schon mal auf einer anderen Reise gehört, und wir fragen uns: „Wie nennt man diese langsame Musik, gefertigt aus Maschinen-Rhythmen, extatischem Rock und ethnischen Volksweisen?“

Nach langer Zeit der Kontemplation gibt Noema eine Antwort: it's COZMICO!

Wie im Rausch schreibt er die Idee auf ein Papyrus Blatt. Er erklärt uns den Begriff, verschafft Überblick über die Szene, den Kontext und die cozmischen Charakteristika.

Aber wie klingt Cozmico genau? Und aus dem Aether steigt empor dieser Mix und die Essenz von Cozmico wird klar wie die Luft in den peruanischen Anden...

Arabesque cascades and memories of the deepest jungle reach our ears. Drums set our bodies in vibration while our hearts are enchanted by psychedelic melodies.
At one of our journeys we listened to such music and we asked ourselves: „How do you call this slow music, made by machine-rhythms, ecstatic Rock and ethnic folk tunes?“

After a long time of contemplation, Noema gives an answer: it's COZMICO!

In a state of frenzy, he writes the idea on a leaf of papyrus. He explains the concept to us, gives an overview of the scene, the context and the cozmic characteristics.

But how does Cozmico sound? And from the aether this mix rises up to the sky, and the essence of Cozmico becomes clear as the air in the peruvian Andes.

We are still recovering from an intense Bucht der Träumer* Festival 2018. 
We had the pleasure to play a special slot three hours before sunrise while looking into smiling familiar faces spread all over the dancefloor.
This recording is our way to say "Thank you" to all the dancers including all our friends and family who came to see and hear our performance and gave us a mindblowing feedback. It is also a way of thanking the whole Festival-Team for trusting us with the playtime. It has been an honor!
Just a final hint: Listen until the end. It is worth it.

Immer noch in kosmischen Umlaufbahnen herumschwirrend, suchen wir nach einem Anhaltspunkt, der uns den Schwindel nimmt, den man uns am vergangenen Wochenende verpasst hat. Die Musik scheint langsam immer leiser zu klingen, so weit sind wir draussen. 

Plötzlich treffen wir auf ihn; er, der uns neue spherische Melodien zu Ohren trägt und uns langsam aber sicher und mit stetigem Wohlklang wieder erdet und in die irdische Umlaufbahn bringt.
