Le nom MONDO CANE – en italien, littéralement « monde de chien » – est une référence au premier « shockumentaire » réalisé en 1962 par Paolo Cavara, Franco Prosperi et Gualtiero Jacopetti. Le film porte sur différentes pratiques culturelles dans le monde, en appuyant sur leurs aspects cruels et violents. Bien qu’il ne soit pas limité à cette thématique, le constat des incohérences et des injustices de la société contemporaine est un axe largement exploré au fil des textes de MONDO CANE, à l’image du premier single « Comme une dernière fois ».

Cet EP est dédié au Liban, à Beyrouth, et à la mémoire de ma mère.

_SOUNDTRACK TO A BURNING WORLD_

The name MONDO CANE – which literally means « Doggish world » in Italian – is a reference to the first « shockumentary » of the same name directed by Paolo Cavara, Franco Prosperi and Gualtiero Jacopetti in 1962. Though the songs of MONDO CANE are not limited to the themes portrayed in the film, the injustice and inconsistencies in our contemporary society are at the heart of the lyrics, such as in the first single « Comme une dernière fois ».

This EP is dedicated to Lebanon, Beirut and my mother.
