Covering another 90s rock classic - this time Blind Melon's hit single, Change, from their 1992 self-titled debut album. Blind Melon's late lead singer, Shannon Hoon (1967 - 1995), allegedly wrote Change during a three-day cocaine binge in Indiana, which adds new light to the lyrics. The lyric "I know we can't all stay here forever, so I want to write my words on the face of today, and they'll paint it" are envgraved at the foot of Shannon's grave stone in Lafayette, Indiana. The band performed Change on The Late Show with David Letterman, April 8, 1994, dedicating the performance to Curt Kobain, whose body was found earlier that same day. Change was the second single released (following No Rain), reaching number 13 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and number 6 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart. It has become one of the band's most popular and enduring songs, covered by several mainstream artists.
