...es muss etwa 1989 gewesen sein, als ich mal wieder Irland bereiste, In Dingle traf ich einen Straßenmusiker, der mit Gitarre und Flöte unterwegs war. Eine Melodie faszinierte mich besonders. Ich fragte ihn, was das sei und er antwortete mir, das Stück heiße Buskers Dream und sei ein Traditional. Ich habe das Stück seither nirgend wo mehr gehört, konnte es aber nicht vergessen. Daher wollte ich es unbedingt aufnehmen - mit einem kleinen improvisierten Ambient-Part in der Mitte...

Kelpy is a Darkfolk-Project, born and nourished on the windy heights of the swabian alb, where ghosts and old gods murmur in ancient dreams. Its not only music, but also words and art, that shall be put together. While holger imagines the melodies, the pictures and the words and plays the flutes, music-genius and multi-instrumentalist ralf arranges the songs in his unique ways. Along the way they had the help of wonderful artists like luci van org (meystersinger/übermutter/lucilectrik), berlin folk-band the sycamore tree, sigrun schumacher (silvio dalla bride band/wüste well big band) and rock-violinist ally storch (ally the fiddle/asps von zaubererbrüdern/schandmaul/umbra et imago).
