DPC is thrilled to premiere @frankbooker's contribution to @kolour_ltd's Tale of 2 Cities compilation. This one is a real heater.

“Unburdened” started as a rough demo with the name as a working title. The Booker himself reveals that shortly after posting it to Soundcloud for feedback—a rare act for the New Zealand producer—the Kolour LTD boys scooped it right up. Fast-forward to the present and we’ve got Frank Booker’s polished deep house cut as his contribution to Kolour LTD’s Tale of 2 Cities compilation. The LP is the largest undertaking by the label yet, involving 14 tracks from an excellent roster producers--both new and familiar to KLTD---on three slabs of wax. Package-wise, it’ll come in a trifold outer with a poster print of the compilation’s artwork. The name and artwork of the project, as some might have already inferred, is a nod to the two home-bases of Kolour LTD’s head honchos: Detroit (Justin McMillen) and Houston (Mike W.).

Anyway, DPC is honored to present the premiere for this one. Quite simply, “Unburdened” is fantastic and beautifully named. Press play and let it fly free.

One of the hottest newcomers to land on the shores of the House scene, DJ/producer Ant LaRock is making quite a bit of noise, yet noise is the last word that could ever describe his productions. The track's genius production lies in its simplicity. So much amazing talent is coming out of South Africa, it's hard to keep up. Scouring distant lands to find some of the most talented emerging artists, we've been blessed with even more quality sounds and proud to bring you another installment. Straight from Kwa-Zulu Natal in Durban is Samurai Yasusa, a digitally skilled young producer, whose debut single "Absolute" on the #1 Dopewax Approved: Kenny Dope & Friends comp helped stake his claim, and whose sonic elements on his latest single, "In Need," are simply flawless. They're all here, the native drums, 4/4 bass, minimal synthy chord punches, and the super catchy ethereal vocal by very talented rising star Olwethu. Samurai sets the stage perfectly for the mixdown by 4-time Grammy nominee Kenny Dope, who adds his musical Midas touch to the production as only he knows how. The end result is no less a powerful head-nodding bit of deep deep Afro House that is sure to transcend generations of dance floor enthusiasts. This is pure fundamental quality dance music. Dopewax welcomes 2 fine artists back to the dance floor. 2016 saw the release of their respective debut singles. Singer Lee Wilson had "Turn You Up" with classic Kenny Dope and Todd Terry remixes, that turned many house-heads out in clubland, and Sterling Ensemble gave rise to a soulful debut with Sara Devine's "Angel," that included re:rubs by Frankie Feliciano. This time around, Sterling and Wilson team up to bring you the upbeat, clapped-out, feel-good "Everybody." Complete with strings, light bass and dulcet piano chords, they're a perfect bed for Wilson's powerful and compelling vox to lay atop. On remix duty is gifted west coast House producer William "Reelsoul" Rodriguez, who brings even even more of the good-feels with his smackin' percussion, shuffling rhythm, rubbery bass and sweet-sounding harmonious chords. Uplifting, Joyous and full of Glory, this tune is sure to please any Soulful House fan.

The triumphant return of east coast dynamo Ant LaRock and vocal partner Zhao takes the form of a sweet sweet soulful jam. Not an ounce of pure boogie is lost on Ant's Main mixes whose energy is ramped up a bit on his effective rolling percussion and snappy tight tight Nitelife remixes. On additional remix duty comes South African producer Karyendasoul who dives in a bit darker and deeper on his Orchid versions.
