I remember playing the chords for Bipolar and he wrote the chorus melody literally the first five minutes he walked into the session. Magical! “I was so blown away this happened. One random day, Rivers Cuomo Tweeted at me because he heard “Light” and he was like, “yo, ‘Light’ is so dope.” He DMed me with, “if you ever have something you'd like to work on, send it.” I went to my studio and wrote the drop of “wheels up.” He loved it. I think he was touring at the time, and he was like “we all really love it here in Weezer land.” We went back and forth over email, writing the lyrics together. The first lyrics were all different. I felt so shy to tell him that I was looking for something else, because who am I to tell Rivers Cuomo to change his lyrics? But he was so open to it, and then he was like, “oh, this is actually so cool.” 

Before San Holo, I was a guitar teacher. Man, the amount of times I taught kids Weezer songs.. They all wanted to play “Say It Ain’t So.”  It's so special to me that I got to write a song with Rivers. This guy's a freaking legend, and nostalgia is so important for me. Full circle!" - San
