He leaned in, his voice low against her ear. “I won’t give you light,” he whispered. “But if you want me… bleed with me.”

Her pulse answered before her lips did.

The darkness wrapped around them, not cold this time—hot, like a secret only they could share. His hands found her waist, hers tangled in his shirt. She didn’t run. She melted.

The ruin wasn’t ugly anymore. It was heat. It was breath. It was two souls pressed too close to ever be strangers again.
