Sunset Campout is a surreal dream of a festival. An ecstatic gathering of dance music family from the West Coast and beyond. Sunset is a vibrant ritual celebrating freedom, joy, creativity, pleasure and dance, but also a powerful opportunity to process and release our grief and sorrow, personal and collective. To mourn those who are no longer with us, and connect more deeply with those who are. 

It was my honor to play the closing/sunrise set on the banks of the beautiful Feather River on night one, starting in the murky depths and ending up in the clear morning light of a new day. Gratitude to Galen & Solar for the invitation and the trust, and for holding down Sunset as a pillar of  West Coast rave culture for 3+ decades. To all the beautiful dancers who stuck it out to the end with me, and stayed through the bonus hour of encores, THANK YOU.

In Hour 2 we welcome Adrian Sherwood, legendary UK dub producer and On-U-Sound founder who has been active in the music business since the 1970's. He has long been regarded as one of the most innovative and influential artists in UK reggae, dub, industrial, post-punk and beyond, having worked with the likes of Lee "Scratch" Perry, Vivien Goldman, Mark Stewart, Cabaret Voltaire, Nine Inch Nails and Bim Sherman. His incredible On-U-Sound label released Vol. 2 of his compilation series Sherwood At The Controls earlier this year, putting the spotlight on his productions and remixes between 1985 and 1990. His more recent output has been alongside Pinch and productions with Coldcut, who are playing with Adrian Sherwood at London’s Jazz Cafe on December 3rd as part of ‘Sherwood at The Controls’ series with, Dennis Bovell, Crucial Tony and Perry Melius. He told us;
