"The influence and presence of trap and rap in dance/experimental is obviously massive, and the lines between genres are more blurred than ever. HAJJ, however, says this is a recent thing; “I find that the electronic scene in France is just starting to encourage the integration of this culture. Not so long ago people insulted me when I played rap/trap in my sets.”

The underpinning idea for this compilation brought electronic producers not explicitly of that world to unpick whatever boundaries remain and contribute tracks for a mixtape – while a few of the artists are more obviously ready to “play the game” and already make music which exists pretty close to this horizon, this has been a challenge to think creatively for a few of the other artists invited."

Footwork, grime e música latina? Olha, se nem os 160bpm de juke animar seu início de semana, por favor, volte uma casa. O G* Collections #6 apresenta @bivito, 25 anos, DJ e designer em Curitiba. Misturando ritmos e estilos musicais, Bivito mostra sua essência nas pesquisas para esse set.

Nosso convidado teve o primeiro contato com a música por meio dos CDs de punk do irmão e, acredite, isso só aconteceu porque achou a capa bonita. Aos 12 anos, com a influência da banda britânica The Prodigy, conheceu o mundo da música eletrônica. O tempo ocioso na pandemia fez Bivito dar os primeiros passos como DJ. Sem controladora, tendo apenas o Virtual DJ, ele fez o primeiro set tocado em rádio. 

Com muito jungle, footwork e drill, as batidas ácidas que o artista traz para esse G* Collections carregam referências de quem mais domina o assunto. Antconstantino, Tim Reaper, Sherelle e Neffa-T são inspirações máximas para os sets de Bivito. “A preparação desse G*Collections foi intensa, acho que tem umas cinco músicas que eu ouvi inteiras antes de tocar, o resto foi no feeling”, ressalta o DJ. 

Bivito traz para o set músicas inéditas — sempre é bom manter contato próximo com os produtores — revela. O artista revela ainda que 98% das músicas tocadas no nosso G* Collections não foram tocadas por ele antes, em outro set. “Eu tô ’felizão’ por ter sido chamado, a Guilda me ajuda muito, minha primeira gig quem descolou foi o @djfael. Além de que eu e Nen trocamos referência seja de música ou design direto”, enfatiza Bivito.

As well as other activities of the Centro da Cultura Judaica, the festival tries to make a reflection about the Israeli and Brazilian cultures in their complexity and propose different possibilities of dialogues.
