Yugoslavian born musician and video artist MEDIKA grew up in the UK and delved into her passions at an early age. Landing at the age of 9, speaking no English and raised by Nintendo, she got her first decks at 15, a belt drive Soundlab and a record player, which trained her up for the 12"10s bought soon after. Surrounded by a wide company of fellow djs, she snuk off to university and self funded a Masters degree in Video arts. Alongside a music video showreel that runs deep through the bass music scene, Medika also kept a club night alive using her video skills and the company of fellow musicians who used it as a testing ground for their unreleased productions. 
First female on tons of underground labels medika is stacking dubs and continues her reign as she now returns to her homeland managing festivals, with Noise Test tightly under her belt. 
She continues to DJ using traktor with vinyl controllers, and her unreleased noise test mix series has influenced many. With a heavy focus on experimental sub genres of drum and bass she can happily take you on a deep journey and equally mash up the dance.
A career in IT has funded all her projects over the last 16 years with the future looking bright and showing no sign of slowing down.

ABOUT SOUND:
Timeless:
In my opinion sound should have soul and at the same time be fit for eternity. Timelessness in sound is my philosophy

Minimalism:
Is there anything missing? No No No No for me nothing is missing.... Less is more... With less you should fill the room optimally in sound design....

What Pirat records do not like:
don't like sirens including siren pauses and I don't like stories that are too predictable. I don't like normal claps.... dont like too much compression and too little dynamic space.

I don't have any limits about the style of music.
I focus on quality in sound in the end result

__M.A.T.E.A.K.U.__was my first soundcloud account and the beginniing of this journey which I'm glad exists.....Jungle and the amen break with its punchy sound difficult drum patterns and dynamic drum sound was why I wanted to sample drums and the rest is music programming (daw) A Late discovery as I started drumming and teaching myself with a new source of loops and patterns to push myself at.......Blah blah brothers and others I only barely know we love the rythym so represent....:0
