Depeche Mode:  Should Be Higher [Live, SS'2013]

First remix I've done of Depeche Mode. I found some acapella stems floating around the interwebs and had fun with them. Definitely a different take on this song, and it's slowed down a bit. If you listen, I'd love to hear what you think.

I had originally started this with the goal that it all be done exclusively with sounds I created from scratch in Massive, one of my heavily used synths. So even the kick, and some of the snare drum are amongst mostly other Massive sounds. I used several samples later on in addition to the vocals, and Granulator with one of the vox samples for the loop in the beginning, but mostly accomplished my goal.

Johnny Marr is set to mark this year’s Record Store Day with a numbered limited edition 7” release of his interpretation of Depeche Mode’s 1993 classic ‘I Feel You’. Marr played the track live during the closing shows of last December’s North American tour. The single’s b-side is a live version of The Smiths’ ‘Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want’.
