Breathless

Frankfurt based DJ, producer, curator and event manager Shia LaBiff, known amongst his peers as Michèl Dion Baltin, has a huge repertoire of music and influences which he is constantly sharing for more than 20 years. Starting in early age with Indie, Post Punk and New Wave he soon discovered the joy of electronic club music and started following the path of New Order, Primal Scream and Andrew Weatherall into a new beat driven world. You will hear shades of Italo and Electronic Body Music, New Beat, Acid House, Techno and New/Cold/Synthwave in his mixtapes or DJ sets. His event and guest mix series Blank Wave is providing artists like Perel, Facets, Andi (Synthicide), Sharlese, Shubostar, Que Sakamoto, Rotciv, Radondo, Aural Trace, Moderna and Skelesys – just to name a few. Also check out his Discocaine series if you’re more into Italo Disco, undiscovered 80s gems and Proto House.

He always tries to combine old heroes and newcomers in his mixes. Artists who have been with him for decades, like Einstürzende Neubauten or Xmal Deutschland, are featured alongside friends whose work he truly appreciates, such as Facets or Zee Mon. His sets span a range of genres, from Belgian New Beat to Acid House with a Goth touch, and include old-school electro reminiscent of The Hague and Canadian EBM. The vibe is always dark and international.

Réalisé sous la forme d'un double vinyle, "Model Ego" est le premier disque de Völksmusik pour le compte du label français Black Jack Records (Sinema aka Kiko...)avec les collaborations de Karine Liebe (voix) et Thierry D. (basse). Le titre extrait, "Lost Paradise", a été composé en réaction aux attentats du 11 septembre à New York (2001). Le EP a été sold-out en 4 jours !

Released as a double vinyl, "Model Ego" is the first record of Völksmusik on the french label Black Jack Records (Sinema aka Kiko…) with Karine Liebe (voice) and Thierry D. (bass). The track was composed after the September 11th attack in New York (2001). The EP was sold-out in 4 days !
