Stephen started his musical schooling some 20 years ago. Growing up surrounded by the legacy of his Fathers (a DJ himself) record collection, Stephen was heavily influenced by the soulful Motown and Disco wax that piled up around his parents home. This coupled with the boom in electronic music coming out of Detroit and Chicago in the 80’s and early mid 90’s began to sculpt Stephen’s tastes as his passion for percussive dance music grew. In his early teens he began to produce his own brand of techno under the pseudonym ‘Lumen’ and started to create a name for himself playing at various underground techno nights in Newcastle such as ‘Reverb’ and ‘Nice’. Not long after, he moved to London, and began to soak up all the capital had to offer. Stephen has experienced very quick success on the underground House scene in London, as one half of ‘Drop the Zombie’. He is now back in the studio and has started work on his new solo material. 

His own party De:Bug also resides in his home town Sheffield, a monthly party where some of the best in underground house and techno acts from around the world are show cased are showcased.

Early next year will see the official release of Stephen’s new Solo material . . . . 2012 promises to be MEGA!
