Darrin Bodner brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as Executive Deputy Director of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Previously, he held key positions in government, nonprofit organizations, and the corporate sector, showcasing his versatile skill set and commitment to public service.

Before his current role, Bodner served as Executive Deputy Secretary for Administration and Management at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, where he played a pivotal role from April 2015 to January 2023. Prior to his work in Pennsylvania, he served as Operations Director at Oblong Industries in Los Angeles.

Bodner's career highlights include co-creating and holding senior management positions at Media Matters for America, a notable nonprofit organization focused on media analysis and accountability. His diverse background also includes significant contributions as the development director for the esteemed Off-Broadway Atlantic Theater Company and as a key member of former New York City Council Speaker Peter F. Vallone, Sr.'s team, where he spearheaded fundraising efforts for Vallone's mayoral campaign in 2001.

Beyond his professional achievements, Bodner is actively engaged in various interests, including travel, politics, media, history, religion, science, technology, music, theater, film, popular culture, numismatics, and genealogy. He is known for his involvement in the arts community, having sung with both the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington and the New York City Gay Men's Chorus.

Bodner holds a bachelor of arts degree in Economics and Dramatic Arts from Dickinson College. He identifies as a gay, secular humanist, liberal, Democrat, and INFJ personality type, reflecting his diverse and inclusive perspective on societal issues.
