Still looking for new sounds in his productions or in his dj sets, Kesmo releases his new project "Brainfoot" dedicated to footworkers and other Juke Music fans as well as Hip Hop head and other Funk / Soul 70's diggers.

He excels between Hip Hop and Electronic Music and knows the codes but also the energy of these styles, it is quite natural that he loads the catalog of his label, Booty Call Records, a reference in the last 10 years.

Kesmo offers his current vision of Chicago sound by subduing the titles one after the other for a journey from the Japanese Funk of the seventies to gusts of snare in triplet to the torrent of funky jungle breaks. All with two collaborations of size, his partners Leatherface and Candyman of Nightmare Juke Squad.

We are so grateful to have a track from AMEN The Producer @amen-producer in our catalogue!!! So many of his tunes made their ways in our DJ sets for the last 3-4 years. The producer, artist and DJ from the Bronx NY handles a wide range of styles from trap and hip-hop, house, Jersey inspired club to his own booming strand of footwork. He is also a member of the terrific Papi Squad collective frequently co-creating with them.
The 'DJ Trak' is a hard Jersey Club assault stripped down to its core elements allowing one enormous bass kick to take the entire room at times. AMEN’s distinctive craft shine through the entire trak with skippy hip-hop vocal edits, extra large bass pounding kicks, echoing chants, percussive tones and constant rhythm variations.

"Dystopian R&B" Out Now

“Dystopian R&B” is a dark, experimental and atmospheric take on one of today’s most exciting genres. Inside, you’ll find enough glitchy vocals, tape-driven guitars, and hard-hitting drums to bring your most abstract ideas to life. All sounds were meticulously selected, sculpted, and processed by producers, Reynaldo Hernandez Byron August, Corey Smith-West, with help from the rest of Splice’s 2019 Creator Class.

By pulling from styles like indietronica, ambient and industrial music, “Dystopian R&B” brings a whole new arsenal of sounds into the modern trap or R&B producer’s studio. If you’re looking to mimic exactly what the next guy is doing, maybe this pack isn’t for you.  But for any producer, singer, or musician looking to step off the beaten path, it’s looking quite dystopian.

These sounds were created using a variety of analog, granular and software synthesizers as well as more conventional instruments recorded in studios across NYC. Each sound was run through a unique array of in-the-box programs, guitar pedals, and modular racks. Drums and Percs were designed using a blend of drum synthesizers, kits and found sounds, and processed to maximize punch.

Whatever the genre, find tomorrow’s sound today with “Dystopian R&B”.

Always exploring new sounds and music genres, Kesmo (a.k.a. Dirty K) started spinning hip-hop and learnt mixing skills from this movement.

Since 1997, he's acquiring turntablist's knowledge and releases around twenty mixtapes with Offishal Deejays.

Progressively focusing on dancefloor-friendly musics as electro, crunk... he discovers grime, in particular with Dizzee Rascal's Boy In Da Corner LP.

After meeting Marvy Da Pimp and Absurd, they release the first french Grime compilation, featuring rare and early french grime producers and Mc's (Ego6, Ambitieux, Boudj...)

Soon infested by the Booty Bass, he logically joins Booty Call Records in 2007 and brings the heat with loads of energy full-filled dj sets and remixes.

Playing all around the world (Swiss, Germany, Brazil, Poland, Italy, Belgium, Spain,Portugal, India...), his shows tears every club up.

Recognized for his variety (from hip-hop to electro-club, and many ghetto musics), always playlisting exclusive tracks, blended with madness and humor.

Nothing frightens the man and his outstanding technique.

After remixing Serge Gainsbourg into tropical house, Claude Nougaro into baltimore club music, France Gall into booty bass., now is  more going  to deep, abstract & floating shits.
