I don't know how it took me so long to place the feeling this piece instills in me, but I've finally got it. It's a goodbye. A final farewell to your dearest friend as you remember all the sweetest memories you've made together. 

Listening to this for years now. Beautiful, very beautiful. Makes me miss my old fruends. Makes me want to do what I really want to do in life. Very well done sir!

Vaguely exotic sounding, yet still comfortably tonal, this piece certainly falls between some cracks. Gamelan is listed as an instrument... but that's sort of like listing an orchestra as an instrument... which I sometimes do. The other thing in here is that helicon. Imagine you take a french horn (which is like 5 meters of tubes) and make it even bigger! I guess it is also the name of a mountain in Greece? I did not use the mountain in this piece.

So you're producing an interview segment! Problem is most people suck at being interviewed. Like... almost everyone. What do you do? You could send the non-media professional to an improv class, you could do 5 pre-interview coachings, or you could schedule a 3-day "pre-interview" at an all-inclusive beach resort in hopes that you will "share a moment" and uncover some goddamn humanity in your interview subject.
Or. You could just put some interesting music behind the segment. If your crap interview is longer than this piece Do NOT loop this music - fire your editor.

My favorite suggestion was "HOBO DRUMS"... just... not quite right for this. :-)
