After years apart, we've finally got the boys back on our screens later this month. What better way to celebrate than by marking another return, to the label of their post-breakout "Stash" victory lap. Aus, Belfast and Boiler Room: there's no place like home.

"Just" wastes no time locking the brisk rhythm into place before a wriggling earworm of a lead pans across the channels. Atmospheric swells are pieced by gatling-gun snares; the tension builds but never releases, making this a surefire precursor to the bulk of heavyweight set climaxes you're likely to hear this summer. Svogue Muziq label is back with its first 2016 release and is a hot one. 
“Supervisors” EP comes courtesy of Barcelona-based italian DJ & producer Matteo Floris who’s also the label A&R and co-owner. 
This 3tracker EP shows off Matteo’s funk and breaks influences coming from his bboying dancer side and his passion for hip hop culture roots. 

‘Aus Check’ opens the release and is a pure groovy house jam 100% dancefloor dedicated. Displays Matteo’s skills at vocal sampling and rhythm building, two involving breakdowns mixed between a chunky drums line and a fat bass. 
‘Supervisors’ is a collaboration with the Chicago native Kid Enigma (Rafael Perez) well known for his top note lyrics and already with releases on Dj Sneak’s I’m A House Gangster and other wicked labels. 
This joint is a drums rocker, sexy and heavy at the same time. Here again some vocal sampling before the main lyric drops with the moog bass and the trip starts, all combined with hot pitched sounds and fxs. 
‘Soul Shaker’ is the simplest track of the EP and maybe the strongest one. Grouping all main elements from the other two tunes (sampling, bass, refined synth sounds) shows more pressure and tension on the breakdowns releasing all the power when the bassline drops together with that raw and solid groove. 

Matteo’s profile is rising of late, with is last works, great feedbacks from top djs and his forthcoming stuff on: Material Series, Elrow Music, Low Steppa’s label Simma Red, Daylight Robbery Records, Sam Divine’s label D-Vine Sounds + others tba soon.

Having had a remarkable start to 2016 with self aclaimed ‘Illicit Behaviour’ EP, Hot Creations & Paradise pacesetter - Jamie Jones - serves up his latest instalment via the Emerald City imprint.

Leading track ‘Land Of The Giants’ flows into rich orchestral elements, followed up by prominent electronic wobbles before switching the pace - implementing a complex instrumental structure from the get go. Collaborating with Hero Twins (Timothy D Jones – brother to Jamie – and Tarhan Ozkan) for the release, they introduce faint, haunting vocals, paired with a low rolling and distorted bassline to create an underground masterpiece.

In contrast to the title release, ‘The Shoplifter’ focuses solely on the electronic layers weaving throughout the record. The stripped back instrumental resonates a thumping bassline in turn with reverberating bleeps and a murmuring female vocal hook. The breakdown lends its ear to fierce, punchy orchestral chords before signing things off with echoing percussion – transcending Jamie’s ‘Lands Of The Giants’ EP as one of his most experimental workings yet.

There are few DJs who have as much passion and dedication to this industry as Kevin Knapp. He’s a constant pioneer of the sounds crowds yearn for through his own individual production style and his proclivity for vocal contributions. His stand out vocals turned our heads back in 2012 proclaiming “My Beat Will Control You" with Audiojack and his first Hot Creations cut ”The Drums” alongside A&R head Richy Ahmed in 2013 is still owning dance floors to this day. As of recent, his track “Drug Birds” out of Sola was heavily supported by UK mainstays Hannah Wants and Huxley. 2018 was a big year as Kevin’s collab “Your Mind” with Shiba San was released with Repopulate Mars and swept across dancefloors. Kevin has taken every opportunity to continue his craft leading him from San Francisco to the capital of Techno: Berlin. 

This is not seen as a day job to Kevin, but rather, it’s a way of life. It’s an attempt to communicate with audiences worldwide through his sounds and passion for human connection and it’s working. Whether that be as small as a vocal loop, or as substantial as a full fledged EP on some of the biggest house music labels in world, Knapp will turn his hand to anything in order to continue this journey he’s living day in day out, going BIG in more ways than one. 

As a world touring DJ, Kevin has preformed at many seminary festivals and stages including Dirtybird Campout, Lucidity Festival, Paradise, Get Lost, Cityfox, Sonar, Fabric, Kater Blau, Elrow, and Sankeys, making it clear that Kevin’s sound is an infectious front runner in the house music industry. Just ask his frequent supporters Jamie Jones, Pete Tong, Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers, Claude Vonstroke, Patrick Topping, and Hannah Wants about Kevin’s seat at the house music table. Whether it’s a niche underground 200 capacity club, or a stage in Miami in front of several thousand, Knapp pushes to break the boundaries between DJ and spectator. 

With releases on Hot Creations, Crosstown Rebels, Hottrax, Sola, Dirtybird, Truesoul and more, Knapp continues to delve beyond the music and he is positioned to have 2019 be his most poignant year to date.
