The What You Sample / I Eat Beats EP is Billy Kenny’s first EP on his own co-run imprint, This Ain’t Bristol. Already gaining huge support from all across the board, these two sweetened and fruit-flavoured peak time bangers are accompanied by a juicy remix by non other than Dirtybird’s Ardalan. 

What You Sample’s kit shuffles it’s way into a hypnotic masquerade of melodic 808’s, calming the listener before hitting with some serious grit! This track shows off one of the deadliest reese basses known to mankind like it’s nothing, while keeping it’s cool in-between, creating a seesaw of volume and atmosphere.
 
A concerto of violins, gangster leads and talking warps are the main ingredients that “I Eat Beats” consists of. The epic orchestral break reverbs its way into the abyss and prepares you for the drops - yes, there's a few and they switch up constantly! We think it would do exactly what it said on the tin if it wasn’t a track in your playlist. 

Ardalan’s approach to I Eat Beats introduces even more strings than the original, one hell of a thumping kick and a piercing saw bass enough to rip the kevlar from a speaker cone! Upon the second breakdown, Ardalan shows us how to make a gangster lead even more gangster with a little G-Funk spin to it.

Will Clarke mans the controls: Making his Dirtybird debut in January with “Badness” on DIRTYBIRD 10, and followed up with the ‘Boogie Woogie’  EP and lazer-snapping “808Frenzy”’ on the ‘DIRTYBIRD BBQ- Grill$on’s Revenge’ collection, the bristly Bristol-based spandex enthusiast has enjoyed a beautiful summer with releases on Defected, Emerald City and Turbo and unforgettable shows across the US, Australia and Europe.
Returning to the label with the bulbous two-track EP ‘Turn It Up’, Clarke does just that: Writhing in carnal groove simplicity, he taps into the roots of timeless, low-down, butt-wriggling house music with three obscene examples of strong-armed tech funk. ‘Can You Funk’ punches with Breach-level hookiness, and ‘Turn It Up’ does the loopy-loop with Dirtybird’s trademark vocal trippiness.

‚Drowning‘ comes from the talented house duo, Robosonic. The two have made a name for themselves with their heavy low ends, their irresistible groove and warm vibes; ‘Drowning’ is no exception – especially when it comes to the delicious vocal from American R&B artist, Son Little.

BodyTrax drops it’s second EP of 2016 with another fine 3-tracker from Bodyjack; mastered by Alden Tyrell and out via Clone.

“Laugh It Up” opens things up and we are in vintage Bodyjack territory from the outset. Rough (and we mean rough!) beats and percussion, vocal hook and a metallic riff combined with possibly his ugliest bassline to date to make this an essential addition the bag/crate of any house DJ. “Slow Clap” strips the track right down to just drums and bass taking the A1 even more rawness. File under “Warehouse”.

The title track “I’m Here All Week” on the flip is one of those simple-but-infectious house tracks that you’re going to remember after a night out. Once again, our man’s synth n’ bass work duck around those sharply programmed beats he's known for to round off the EP with a bang.

As a DJ, he travels the globe since 2001, having played in Europe, Australia, Thailand, Brazil, the US and Mexico, and in his sets he creates a feeling of connectedness between himself and others, as well as within the crowd. His first music on Autist Records, the label on which he subsequently releases his debut LP, ‘The Autistic Disco’, in May 2009, gathers the attention of many top DJs, such as Jeremy P. There are few DJs who have as much passion and dedication to this industry as Kevin Knapp. He’s a constant pioneer of the sounds crowds yearn for through his own individual production style and his proclivity for vocal contributions. His stand out vocals turned our heads back in 2012 proclaiming “My Beat Will Control You" with Audiojack and his first Hot Creations cut ”The Drums” alongside A&R head Richy Ahmed in 2013 is still owning dance floors to this day. As of recent, his track “Drug Birds” out of Sola was heavily supported by UK mainstays Hannah Wants and Huxley. 2018 was a big year as Kevin’s collab “Your Mind” with Shiba San was released with Repopulate Mars and swept across dancefloors. Kevin has taken every opportunity to continue his craft leading him from San Francisco to the capital of Techno: Berlin. 

This is not seen as a day job to Kevin, but rather, it’s a way of life. It’s an attempt to communicate with audiences worldwide through his sounds and passion for human connection and it’s working. Whether that be as small as a vocal loop, or as substantial as a full fledged EP on some of the biggest house music labels in world, Knapp will turn his hand to anything in order to continue this journey he’s living day in day out, going BIG in more ways than one. 

As a world touring DJ, Kevin has preformed at many seminary festivals and stages including Dirtybird Campout, Lucidity Festival, Paradise, Get Lost, Cityfox, Sonar, Fabric, Kater Blau, Elrow, and Sankeys, making it clear that Kevin’s sound is an infectious front runner in the house music industry. Just ask his frequent supporters Jamie Jones, Pete Tong, Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers, Claude Vonstroke, Patrick Topping, and Hannah Wants about Kevin’s seat at the house music table. Whether it’s a niche underground 200 capacity club, or a stage in Miami in front of several thousand, Knapp pushes to break the boundaries between DJ and spectator. 

With releases on Hot Creations, Crosstown Rebels, Hottrax, Sola, Dirtybird, Truesoul and more, Knapp continues to delve beyond the music and he is positioned to have 2019 be his most poignant year to date.
