Other Locations was originally released in 1996 on the German record label Broken Seal. It was the first CD release from Blink Twice and the label's second release.
At the time there was a zine culture in electronic music, where artists would send their cassettes through the mail to different underground music zines for review across the globe. It was really the only way to get one's music heard.
After putting out numerous cassettes in the early to mid 1990s, Blink Twice had earned a reputation as a unique dark ambient artist in America.

The dark mysterious sound of Blink Twice resonated in European countries, with favorable reviews in the Slovakian zine Crewzine, the Belgian leading electronic magazine Side-Line, Phosphor, and Wounded magazine from Lithuania. Blink Twice was also featured in American industrial magazines Outburn and Industrial Nation, as well as sonic-boom

The sound of Blink Twice earned comparisons to artists like early Delerium, Dead Can Dance, Nightmare Lodge, SPK, and some of the Cold Meat Industry roster from Sweden such as Raison d'etre, Morthound, and Deustch Nepal. Although generally classified under the genre of "dark ambient", Blink Twice utilized much more melody and percussion than most ambient. Many tracks display the melodic layering and tribal percussion that are showcased in some current Mood Exhibit material.

"Other Locations" is finally available here on the Mood Exhibit Bandcamp page, Robert Salchak's official distribution for all his music.
It includes a large selection of bonus material from the era (1993-1996) that was either never released or only available on cassette.

Hidden as the last track is an epic nearly 15 minute tribal ambient excursion that can only be described as Dead Can Dance era Spiritchaser" (1996) meets Delerium era "Spheres I"(1994)

It is an essential historic document for followers of Mood Exhibit, as well as any fan of dark ambient/neoclassical/tribal/cinematic sounds.

Ah, dear listener! I present myself here with my good buddy Gary, rather sheepish and shamefaced at being absent from this church of sonic jewels for the longest time.  I have been a bad listener, I'm afraid.  Bereft of mojo, time and without my little studio. Mea culpa. 

If you've read this far, you already have a whiff of the legendary about you.

So one day, quite recently,  the Phaigester messages me and opens his raincoat to reveal a select library of stellar little ear-nuggets he's been hiding away. What beauties, I tell thee! What beauties!

Three grabbed me instantly..deep, swirling soundstrata, complex and intriguing in equal measure. 

Perched on my bed, yodelling into the abyss, I attempt to add to his painting.  Teleported into that great,  inkyblack wonderland of transcendent joy again.

Hats off to Gar. Inventive, musical and patient. Thanks for your art and resuscitating me.

Each morning I wake up and look out the window.  It's the same view but different.  It's a new day and a blessing to witness.  This was one of the first songs I ever composed.  I recorded it again and added the flute part. To me, it's beautiful.  I hope you love it!

As long as we keep feeding ourselves the mistaken idea that we are better as a country/race/people/high school than the one next door then we will never be able to actually live together and benefit from others strengths and learn how to strengthen our weaknesses.
Yes no two people are alike. Yes cultures have different foods/customs. but NO! one is not better than another. Just because you are familiar with something doesn't mean that something else is "worse"

while the fit wasn't perfect to both their surprise
