Vanjee - Robot Heart - Burning Man 2024

I had the pleasure of playing to the always beautiful sunsets on Koh Lanta, an island in Thailand at the Pangea Beach Bar. This was a great opportunity to put together a set of a lot of the chiller tracks I've been collecting over the last year or so.

This 2h30m set is a journey with the sun, starting off chill and, after the sun sets and the lights come on, a little bit more of a dance vibe with many throwbacks.

Sunset Live at Pangea Bar, Koh Lanta, Thailand

Opening night of Burning Man 2016, Dyson and I had the opportunity to play an improv tag team at Camp Suburbia. We had a blast taking the party up over two hours from a chill sunset to a packed dance floor.

Burning Man 2016

Recorded live on Dec 3, 2016, one night after the Oakland Ghost Ship fire. Planning the set that day, I found the cognitive dissonance difficult to navigate. How to know what to play when we were all reeling and feeling such loss? How to get in the mindset of being fun?

But through the course of the hour of this set, the mood seemed to shift for everyone. It was one of the most magical experiences I've had as a DJ. To gift music and watch as we collectively moved through our emotions and bonded on and off the dance floor. Somber expressions turned to smiles, love, and appreciation for each other, those lost, and who have lost.

Music and community is so powerful. Cherish it, celebrate it, and feed it.

Frolic Winter 2016

For a long time now, I've collected some music that is quite different from my usual peak breaks sound. I've had a large collection of progressive and deep house I've wanted to play at sunrise and was given this opportunity by the fine folks at Decadent Oasis this year at Burning Man.

As the light shone over the "palm trees" and the sun started to shine on everyone's faces, a couple dozen skydivers with tails started to descend from the sky. A perfect, magical, playa moment.
