Crowned best live act by the Scottish Alternative Music Awards and awarded the title of best international act by Pure M Magazine, UK festival favourites Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5 are due to release their long-awaited second album, The Difficult Number 2, later this year. The forthcoming release from the album, This Is Your House, features dance music icon Mary Kiani and Dopesick Fly frontman Ant Thomaz and is a testament to the Glasgow-based band’s reputation as joyful, genre-hopping purveyors of music to move your feet to. 


Big, warm and immediately uplifting, the forthcoming single was born out of the eleven-strong outfit’s love for dance music, with the universal message to look after the planet that we are unified in calling “Our House”. Inspired by nights spent in legendary Glasgow nightclub, The Arches, This Is Your House is the sound of this year’s summer. 


The album, which is due to be released in April, marks a sonic evolution for the band. Produced by Paul Gallagher - front of house engineer for synth-pop pioneers, CHVRCHES - The Difficult Number 2 is a mixture of developed, tried and tested fan favourites combined with some brand spanking new tracks featuring the band’s signature singalong magic. The lead single, G.T., has been championed by BBC 6 Music’s Amy Lamé as was follow-up single Ted Dancin' which reached number 7 in the Scottish Charts. With album guests as eclectic as Larry Love(Alabama 3) and Gavin Mitchell(Still Game) there is something for everyone. 


Since the Dijon 5’s 2014 album, Party To Make Music To Party To Make Music To Party To Make Music To Party To 1, the cult favourites have striven to create an album that fans will love just as much, while taking them somewhere new entirely. John McMustard, aka the Colonel, said: “There’s no filler. Every song works well individually, but as a whole the album takes you on a musical journey into the different genres that we love.


“What’s remained is the spirit of unity and community that lies at the heart of all the music we make. Gals’ studio is tied to the Castlemilk Youth Complex so we’ve even had the local kids’ choir in singing on a couple of tunes which is brilliant.”


Live, the band are famed for throwing some of the most outrageous parties in venues and festivals across the UK and beyond. Subject to lockdown restrictions, the band are gearing up to play a whole host of festivals including Eden Festival, Playground, Boomtown, Party At The Palace and Beatherderder.


The album launch will take place as an online event on Sat 1st May 2021 in the world renowned Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom where they were previously inducted into the Barrowland Hall Of Fame. This will be the 5th time the band have played the famous stage and to mark the centenary of the Barras market, they will be filming part of their set within the market , as well as in a number of areas no band has gone before within the iconic building. Expect an online party where the 6th Dijon can interact with the band and enjoy the communal experience, in a new exciting way together.

where would you start with this one an artist in his own right and described as having an encyclopaedic knowledge of music NOVEK is sure to leave you wanting more starting out as a drummer at seven years old after receiving a drum kit as a birthday present from family his music career has progressed massively since then at thirteen he closed his school talent show then at sixteen was djing in SWG3 Galvanisers in front of more than a thousand people for a charity music festival and at seventeen he closed g2 in the garage alongside George Bowie from Clyde One Radio fast forward to now and Ciaran has decided to go full time in the industry as a DJ/Musician and there seems to be nothing slowing him down

Uncle Kid makes dark, brooding, understated trip hop with spoken word. His debut EP, ‘Indistinct Chatter’ grabbed the attention of BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson who describes him as an “unsettling Scottish artist” and hailed his first single, ‘Supermarket Sweep’ as “a song for our times”. Meanwhile, BBC Scotland’s Vic Galloway has drawn comparisons to Massive Attack and Arab Strap. He’s also earned many plaudits among prominent online blogs, with Total Rock describing his second single ‘Lamplig’ as "Wonderful, haunted folk charm and trip hop, a truly unique sound".
