Anlässlich des 272. Geburtstages von Johann Wolfgang von Goethe durfte ich auf Einladung der Klassikstiftung Weimar im wunderschönen Ilm- bzw. Goethepark neben der Ruine, welche auch durch ein Coverbild von Moby weltbekannt ist, ein DJ-Set spielen, welches sich vom Ambient hin zu einem ruhigen Elektro entwickelt. Viel Spaß beim entspannen und träumen.

On February 1st, 2023, I had the honor of closing this beautiful club for the second time at my second Station Endlos gig. I took this as an opportunity to pick out my favorite disco & house records. The result is one of the most emotional sets and moods of my hopefully young 17-year DJ life. I would like to thank the whole station crew, the collectives biotobt, easy tiger & resonant and all the guests, who just performed endlessly! and also Maadin Schneida, Mahé, Caro Luf & Ficki for the massiv inspirations in my heavy discoyears. Merci <3
(PS: my mood was much more positive and exuberant than this picture suggests)

Mir wurde am 01.02.2023 die Ehre zuteil, bei meinem zweiten Station Endlos Gig diesen schönen Club gleich auch zum zweiten Mal zu closen. Dies habe ich zum Anlass genommen, meine liebsten Disko- & Houseplatten rauszusuchen. Herausgekommen ist eines der emotionalsten Sets und Stimmungen meines hoffentlich noch jungen 17jährigen DJ-Lebens. This set was a major one for me. A return to music and to you. My father passed away due to cancer in August and I spent these last weeks with him. In addition to pain and shock, I did not have the strength to play or listen to music during these weeks. This Dj set at WHOLE - United Queer Festival allowed me to see you again, to dance with you, to find myself again as a DJ and to regain the feeling of how good it is to be one.

Thank you Dad for having supported me in my life choices. I measure the fragility of this one and the chance to be free to express myself through music and to celebrate life.

DJ Tennis’ highly acclaimed Life and Death imprint continues to traverse sonic boundaries with no exception. The next release Trooper comes from London-based producer Joseph Ashworth, featuring outstanding remixes from the inimitable Ron Trent and founder of Margot Records, Sebra Cruz.

“Trooper pushes a new sound that I have been exploring - with grit and excitement taking charge rather than finesse and tidiness. It makes me think of some kind of disturbing military march, a little bit agressive and a little bit noisy, hence the name.” - Joseph Ashworth

The Ron Trent version employs a stronger techno leaning at the outset, adding a vocal and ambient synths that take it on deeper journey. Sebra Cruz creates a powerful peaktime number, bass-focussed and euphoric. Second original track Laminated, perpetuates the perfect dancefloor rhythm with an abundance of drums, percussion and a heady dose of bass. 

Joseph Ashworth began his career on Needwant with his Grain LP, which showcased his innate ability to fuse melody with a techno beat. Since then, he’s had releases on Get Weird, Dirtybird, Pets Recordings and Anjunadeep. Legendary Ron Trent is regarded as one of the key figures in the birth of the Chicago music scene. He has an extensive back catalogue of prominent releases, founding four of his own labels. Sebra Cruz is the new solo endeavour of one half of Italian duo, and founder of Margot Records, Margot. Earlier this year he released a collaboration with DJ Tennis on their Truth Or Consequences EP.

Next up for Maeve we welcome the very talented Italian duo, Underspreche to the label, delivering a 4 track EP including a remix from label founder The Drifter. 

Underspreche first caught our attention back in 2016 with the release of their mini album "Invito Alla Danza" on Optimo Trax, a record that possesses the captivating mixture of ethno vocals & sounds with a raw house dynamic. From there they continued to impress with their unique twist on many prominent House and Techno jams through their Experiments series. We are thrilled to have worked with them to bring you this EP and who better to describe the record than Underspreche themselves...

"We think every kind of art has an important role in our lives because of the magical power it has inside. Positive art can be profound, produce questions, show us new perspectives, transform feelings and connect people telepathically. If this is not magic??!! Taking inspiration from Alejandro Jodorowsky's work we did our own “music act” with this record, trying to ease our inner sorrow through musical poetry and freeing our voice. Inspiration from other cultures always help develop our work which as ever, is fuelled by a deep love for what we do."
