House of Booo presents: rauh.
Based in Hanover, rauh. is a record label founded in 2011 by Session Restore. Since then, it has been a consistent force in the electronic music scene.
With nine vinyl releases to date rauh. continues to make its mark with carefully curated sounds.
The label also runs the podcast series "rauh_x", showcasing unique sets, and hosts various showcases and events, currently under the name "rauh im Indiego."

After being introduced to his first techno parties in the Berlin/Brandenburg area at the end of the 90s, it immediately became clear to the then-teenager that Session Restore would start DJing. In his sets, he enjoys blending timeless classics with new pieces, skillfully guiding his audience on a journey through techno, dub techno, and house. Beyond DJing, he is active as a producer, with over a dozen releases on vinyl labels such as Mojuba/a.r.t.less, Separate Skills, and his own label, rauh. Through his label, he hosts the mix series "rauh_x" and the event series "rauh im Indiego," which has been enriching Hanover's nightlife with artists like Rødhåd, Vince Watson, Mareena, Akua, and many more.

We're back with our Groovebox podcast series. For episode #44 we've invited DJ Chichi, a genre-fluid artist, serves as a Radio Host at Refuge Worldwide, captivating their audience with their versatile and innovative approach to music. 

As the co-founder of xcuse:u collective, they break down genre barriers and encourage collaboration among artists. In Berlin, DJ Chichi co-hosts Starseeds, a queer-friendly party series known for its inclusive atmosphere. Their seamless navigation through diverse genres and advocacy for more inclusivity and solidarity in the music industry make DJ Chichi a trailblazer, shaping the landscape of inclusive and creative spaces in the nightlife scene. 

On the mix: 

A dubby, jazzy mix with a rough, leftfield edge. It’s all about feeling and energy, not perfect sounds. The dancefloor is a place to let go and heal, where the music talks for you. Deep bass, warm jazz, and offbeat rhythms come together to keep things alive and real.


Schimmer Groovebox #044 w/ DJ Chichi

ACTANT is a New Zealander living in Dresden dedicated to abstract, dark, heavy techno. He began DJing at the tender age of 16 and moved through drum and bass and hard house before settling into the funkier sounds of house and boogie. For many years he held residencies in clubs around New Zealand playing jazzy and deep house music but always harboured a lingering passion for the techno sound. Upon first moving to Germany a few years ago, a trip to Tresor acted as a powerful conversion experience, cementing his commitment to the genre and catalysing a continuous flow of creative output. As well as his own SCAPE mix series, he also created the DYSTOPIA podcast series which profiles and interviews leading techno producers and also co-hosts the intense HYPNOSIS club night.
In his contribution to our fragmented:select series he takes a deep dive into dark and driving techno. Strap in and loose yourself in the music!

After visiting the lakeside dreamland last year I couldn't help myself but imagine on the moment what I would play if I had the opportunity to perform there myself (as any DJ would, I guess). I had different archetypes of sets forming in the back of my mind for different times of the day possible, if the opportunity ever came one day. 
So when I got invited to play the opening of Floresta on Sunday, it first came as a bit of a surprise, but the surprise turned into excitement and it was time to prepare a special set where I could dig into my dub techno collection. 
So, I am very happy to share with you the recording of my set, where I finally had the chance to play slow, deep, dubby and sunny techno in such a setting.
