This started as an attempt to breakdown one of the most sampled beat in history but ended up as a cover.  This beat was done completely with stock LMMS instruments, except the vocals (a sin but a challenge as well). I hope you enjoy!

Made this with various VSTs.  PG-8X, Pluck 4, Virtual Model Mini, U-NO-62 TAL, Linn Drum samples and a few others.

Intro needs work and also guitar isn't correct.  Last thing is remastering the eq and balancing things.

Michael Jackson - Thriller Instrumental Cover

My version of More and More, classic 90s dance tune.  Made with various vsts, but mainly the Vanguard Virus and FM7.  The rest was using the built in presets.  Still not perfect and needs some work.   Version 12 Made with LMMS.

Captain Hollywood Project - More and More COVER (Free LMMS Project Download)

A fun song to make, had to use the initial vocals, doesn't sound the same without it.  This was one of my favorites in the 90s.

Version 3 - Made with LMMS, used T-Force Alpha Plus, SxMJune and U-NO-62 Tal for the Juno 106 emulation.

Reel 2 Real - I Like to Move It Instrumental COVER

Another awesome classic which was fun to make.  Plenty of samples, used Oberheim DMX, SuperWave P8, Kassiopeia for the Casio CZ emulation, Roland Strings and Kx-PolyM-CSE.  Reworked to fix a few of the kinks of the previous version.  Version 6a made with LMMS.

Salt N Pepa - Push It Instrumental

Another classic, but my version (3) remixed. Used a variety of samples and plenty of VSTs: Alpha_Ray, Fm7, U-NO-62 TAL, dmiHammer, DSK AsianZ DreamZ, Qin_RV and Vanguard. Shout out to the 2011 remixed version which is awesome.

The Goodmen - Give it Up Instrumental Remix

A cool track from the 90s with an awesome bassline.  Bit the bullet and bought the Korg M1 vst for this one, really hard to get the same sound with a basic triple oscillator.  The main synth stab was done with the SQ8L VST, and that thing is hard to program.  It's an emulator of the Ensoniq SQ80 which is rumored to be used in the original.  No standard presets on it matched, but it has some waveforms (digit1, digit2) when mixed come close.  The rest of the song was using 909 samples and LMMS presets (whistle, slow strings, etc).  The baseline has some swing and it's a bit tougher to get right in LMMS.

Robin S - Show Me Love Instrumental

Another great 90s track to make use of the Korg M1, still needs lots of work but sounds good to me so far.  Most everything is the Korg, except the triple oscillator for the sawtooth wave.  Various samples from Linn & 909.

Nightcrawlers - Push The Feeling Instrumental Remix (some vocals)

Cool track from the 90s to use of the Korg M1.  Used a variety of presets for main lead and organs.  The sawtooth was done using the bog standard triple oscillator with an LFO filter to give it that zip.  Drums were all standard 909s.  Version 5 made with LMMS.

Real McCoy - Another Night Instrumental Cover

Hard to pass up making this one with that huge fat bass.  I initially thought it would be simple but turned out much more complicated.  No VSTs were used, just drumkit samples, basic triple oscillators and presets from ZynAddSubFX.

Sweetbox feat Tempest - Booyah (Here We Go) Instrumental (vocal intro)

An old favorite of mine.  It's got a lot of FX that I couldn't reproduce but tried to keep the same feel.  Orion 1 VST for the riser (not close to original, but it's all I had) and also Orion 1 for the main lead with some automation on the filter.  The chords were done using ZynAddSubFX Saw presets and the bass backups were Kassiopeia and triple oscillator.  The 'helicopter bass' was also a triple oscillator using some LFO.  I'll probably come back to this one and improve when I come across the right FX.

Vengaboys - Superfly Slick Dick Instrumental

Excellent track from the 90s remade using DSK Overture, DSK Virtuoso, FM7 and SuperWave P8.  Also used some instrument samples from Roland U 220 and JV 2080.  Was lots of fun to make and surprisingly difficult to get right, still needs plenty of work in the mixing.  Version 2 made with LMMS.

Red 5 - Da Beat Goes Instrumental (some vocals)

Another Vengaboys track, with heavy use of the triple oscillator for basically all the chorus.  Standard 909 drums and Oberheim highs, Korg M1 for the bassline and other stock presets for fills.

A change of pace with a hard to pass up track.  Really cool beat which I made to resemble the original, sampling from Jackson 5 ABC (for vocals) and Melvin Bliss - Synthetic Substitution for the beat just like the original.  Piano was Keyzone Classic VST and various other samples.  Left out the moans...uh because OPP.

Naughty by Nature O.P.P. Instrumental Cover

One of my favorite tracks of all time with such great memories of it.  This is of course, a rip from the classic in 96 "At the villa people - Open Your Eyes" but I was introduced to the Nalin and Kane version.  Couldn't use a proper piano VST so it's lacking there, could use some help mixing as well.  DSK Virtuoso, Arminator2, DSK Overture VSTs and other canned presets.  Might come back to this one later.

Nalin and Kane - Open Your Eyes Instrumental Cover

Was a request but anyways, only used a few VSTs for this one.  For Sax it was DVS Saxiphone & Iowa Alto Sax.  The trumpets were Sonatina and VCO2.  The rest was stock presets and samples.  Version 3 made with LMMS.

An old classic, made using Bitsonic Keyzone Classic, Ample P Bass Lite II (awesome VST), and Ample Guitar and some stock strings.  Added some old 80s drums with Reverb and other effects and help from the midis floating around.

Bruce Hornsby - The Way It Is Instrumental Cover

A song I always liked that I felt like trying to recreate.  It features some sample rips and various VSTs. Superwave P8 and T-Force Alpha Plus, along with Musyng Kite Soundfont for the instruments (which I thought were pretty good for a soundfont).  The rest is stock presets.

T.I. - Live Your Life ft. Rihanna Instrumental Cover

A classic dance tune I've been meaning to remake.  Used the powerful Synth 1 for the bassline, Sonatina Orchest & Roland JD 990 for Pizzicato and Arminator2 for the plucks.  Still needs some work but I'm pretty happy.

Brooklyn Bounce - Get Ready to Bounce Instrumental Cover (Vocal Intro)

One of the most influential songs of the 90s IMO, with a dirty edit on the bassline.  Used Helm, Surge & Symptohm PE VSTs along with many other samples and presets.

A quick and dirty version of a cool retro tune.   Mostly samples (from original sources like Hijack The Badman Is Robbin, Crash goes the love, etc) and Surge VST.  Missing all the scratching because ...

Dj Supreme - Tha Wildstyle Cover

I loved this track back in the day, and it was hard to pass up.  Sampled from original sources "Dusty Springfield - Son of a Priecher Man" and "Lee Dorsey - Get Out of My Life, Woman".  Added some modern samples and effects to bring it to life.

Cypress Hill - Hits from the Bong Instrumental Cover

The Fugees Ready or Not, sampled from Enya - Boadicea and other various samples and effects.  Version 4 made with LMMS.

Surprisingly difficult to get this one right despite having the correct original samples.  Lots of little hidden elements and fairly un-quantized.  Used many of the original sourced samples, like "George Semper Get out of my life, Woman" and lots of modern samples and effects.  Version 10 made with LMMS.

Cypress Hill - Insane in the Brain Instrumental Cover

Couldn't pass up doing this one, with the cool Donk Bass (OpulenZ).  Used the Korg M1 for organs, triple oscillator, Native Instruments, various effects and samples.  The vocals were separated using Spleeter, a deep learning library that does an awesome job.

Mellow Mellow - I Can't Stop Cover

I love this track, and I want to share with any aspiring artists my project so they can get into music production.

I will upload this onto the LMMS sharing platform and share for others to enjoy.

Edit: If this gets deleted, the vocal track can be found easily by searching the title of the song + Acapella.  You must reduce the speed by 0.10% to work from 108 BPM.
