With this piece I started with a clean guitar jam with just a basic drum pattern. I extracted a simple chord progression and from there everything else was created.

Interesting that it took a darker vibe, which is kinda my vibe when I used to play rock.

So it makes sense lol

A cool track from the 90s with an awesome bassline.  Bit the bullet and bought the Korg M1 vst for this one, really hard to get the same sound with a basic triple oscillator.  The main synth stab was done with the SQ8L VST, and that thing is hard to program.  It's an emulator of the Ensoniq SQ80 which is rumored to be used in the original.  No standard presets on it matched, but it has some waveforms (digit1, digit2) when mixed come close.  The rest of the song was using 909 samples and LMMS presets (whistle, slow strings, etc).  The baseline has some swing and it's a bit tougher to get right in LMMS.
