“Some nights I shiver and shake” sings The Lost Hours on a track taken from the forthcoming EP.

The Lost Hours is 20-year-old mercurial singer/songwriter Callum James Hamilton. Born and raised in Leeds, Hamilton discovered his Dad’s old record player and vinyl collection and got completely mesmerized by the likes of Joni Mitchell, John Martyn, and Nick Drake.

In 2017 Callum moved to London, where he cut his teeth in the music scene by gigging every night after challenging himself to play seven straight nights a week for a whole year. As he played twice in one night at an unassuming working men’s clubs in the east end where he was discovered by former Infadels frontman Bnann.

After this 1st year, he started receiving radio coverage from the BBC Introducing, as well as being voted one of Britain’s best young songwriters, in 2018 he signed to independent label High Tribe Records.

His first EP has already gained some major contributors, with cello on the song ‘River Run’ played by Ivor Novello winning songwriter Dan Caplen, who also played cello on both platinum selling George Ezra albums, also the 4 track EP has been mixed by Ruadhri Cushan, who’s recent credits include Mumford And Sons, Gregory Porter and James Bay to name a few.

“The Lost Hours are the small hours, where you spend your time wondering how lonely a prospect it is being a celestial object, and where my obsession of trying to mix John Martyn style acoustic riffs with Radiohead’s ‘In Rainbows’ era style production whilst channeling the infectious nerving bubble gum melodies of Talking Heads takes place” exclaims Hamilton.

This EP contrasts love and hate emotions, deep woozy twisted soulful acoustic grooves built to hypnotize you and the stark stripped down ‘Nebraska‘ style rawness heard on the track ‘Miss America‘ which is a brutal and haunting commentary on the recent U.S school shootings which was recorded live in one take.

The Lost Hours are something we all have had and now they have a soundtrack.

In Search of a home
Joseh is a Singer-Songwriter based in Hamburg. Born in japan, parents from the phillipines and grown up in germany. He’s in the middle of journey.
Even as a child he’s on the go. Changing schools, towns and cities and friends every year. Later on also changing his workplace regularly. Looking for a home, roots and people who stay, he finds stability in writing music.

The meaning of daily routines
The source from which Joseh feed the sometimes melancholic, sometimes smart, sometimes passionate compositions lies in the Post-Nick-Drake-Songwriter-Scene and hardly know any reservations. Everything in it appears to have originated spontaneously from a likeable mess of morning coffee and rest alcohol, faded holiday postcards and unpaid bills, and waltzes with instinctive ease, around the chasms of the daily routine.

Die Suche nach einem Zuhause
Joseh, ein Singer-Songwriter aus Hamburg. Geboren in Japan, Eltern aus den Philippinen und aufgewachsen in Deutschland. Er befindet sich inmitten einer Reise.
Schon als Kind ist er unterwegs, wechselt jedes Jahr die Schule, den Ort und die Freunde und später auch immer wieder seinen Arbeitsplatz. Auf seinder suche nach einer Heimat, nach Wurzeln, nach Menschen die bleiben, findet er Halt im schreiben von Musik.

Der Sinn im Alltag
Die Quellen, aus denen Joseh die mal schwermütigen, mal smarten, mal leidenschaftlichen Kompositionen speist, liegen vor allem in der Post-Nick-Drake-Songwriter-Szene und kennen kaum Berührungsängste.
Alles darin erscheint spontan aus einem sympathischen Durcheinander zwischen Morgenkaffee und Restalkohol, verblichenen Urlaubspostkarten und unbezahlten Rechnungen entstanden zu sein, und mit traumwandlerischer Unbefangenheit an den Abgründen des Alltäglichen vorbei zu tanzen.
