His biggest influences at the time were DJ Quik, Nas, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and Michael Jackson. He often related to their music which helped him get through some tough times. 

He started out producing beats on a program called Ejays at the age of 8 with a cheap USB microphone and the rest was history.
