These days, I seem to fall in love
with all the eyes that I see
staring straight back at me;
it reminds me there are mirrors
that surround us everywhere.

These days, I can look at myself
without wishing things away
or hiding my face with paints 
meant to satiate 
this hunger for perfection

These lessons in letting things go
and watching life grow, slowly,
and holding hope that everything will be 
the way it's meant to be;
I can be glad to be me
when I remember to breathe.

These days, I still sometimes forget to see
all the colours that surround me
Can I be here presently
with all my senses wider 
than they've ever been?
