This song began its life in Beck's hands, when she composed it using her synth and MIDI. This is the third song Eclectic Collective has done with her, but the first original composition of hers that she's shared with us. We all love working on her music and were looking forward to getting a chance to work with her again.

First up on this one, JJ added his magical organ and piano before any of the rest of us had a chance to jump in. Carl was next, adding his thrilling vocal part and coming up with his always brilliant lyrics. Ken jumped in after JJ, adding the essential, creative beat. Once Josh had a beat to work with, he added his upright bass, followed by his mandolin as a counter melody. 

When it was all said and done, we asked Tez to produce it for us, which he did in his always expert fashion. As I mentioned, this is our third song with Beck, but we're already working on a fourth. She's a brilliant musician and perfect collaborator. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Simple Truth (SUNNYBECK & The Eclectic Collective)

Under every sky, there is another sky, inhabited by invisible trees that grow crowns of clouds and then, at the right moment, let them go, as if they were daughters ready to face life on their own.

Bill sent me a guitar arpeggio that had been lying unfinished in his (I assume) vast archive. He asked me to turn it into a song, in Italian. But I haven’t written songs in Italian for a very long time (it’s the kind of work I’m no longer interested in doing). Nevertheless, it was the opportunity to collaborate with an excellent musician. So I thought I could add some melodies and the arrangement, and that’s what I did: this is the result. Thanks so much for sharing your music with me, Bill!

The recent holiday season inspired this new song. Indeed, we are always happy and full of hope for the coming year.
The joy of being with family, then the excitement as midnight approaches, the moment when we wish each other the best and, above all, good health. We also hope that the world will be a better place tomorrow and that humanity will finally have learned the lessons of the past year. That the various conflicts will find a peaceful and happy resolution, that all kinds of disasters will be behind us. Unfortunately, we are instantly plunged into a depressing and often horrific reality. The fire in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, is a tragic example. A disaster that claimed the lives of more than 41 young people and left over a hundred others seriously injured, almost all of them teenagers. A tragedy easily avoidable if human greed and thirst for money weren't once again responsible. Russia's aggressive war on Ukraine is intensifying, plunging millions of innocent people into darkness and without electricity or heating. The criminal repression by the Iranian regime is claiming tens of thousands of victims. And finally, the world's largest democracy, governed by an individual devoid of humanity, is carrying out anti-migrant repression with a militia reminiscent of the darkest years of our history. In short, this is the spirit in which I composed this new song. How can one be optimistic?

Les fêtes de fin d'année ont inspiré cette nouvelle chanson. Une période où nous sommes toujours joyeux et pleins d'espoir pour l'année à venir. La joie d'être en famille, puis l'excitation à l'approche de minuit, ce moment où l'on se souhaite le meilleur et, surtout, une bonne santé. Nous espérons aussi que le monde sera meilleur demain et que l'humanité aura enfin tirée les leçons de l'année écoulée. Que les différents conflits trouveront une issue pacifique et heureuse, que toutes les catastrophes seront derrière nous. Malheureusement, nous sommes aussitôt plongés dans une réalité déprimante et souvent horrible. L'incendie de Crans-Montana, en Suisse, en est un exemple tragique. Une catastrophe qui a coûté la vie à plus de 41 jeunes et fait plus d'une centaine de blessés graves, presque tous des adolescents. Une tragédie facilement évitable si la cupidité et la soif d'argent n'en étaient pas une fois de plus responsables. La guerre d'agression menée par la Russie contre l'Ukraine s'intensifie, plongeant des millions d'innocents dans le noir, sans électricité ni chauffage. La répression criminelle du régime iranien fait des dizaines de milliers de victimes. Et enfin, la plus grande démocratie du monde, gouvernée par un individu totalement inhumain, perpètre une répression anti-migrants à l'aide d'une milice qui rappelle les heures les plus sombres de notre histoire. En résumé, c'est dans cet esprit que j'ai composé cette nouvelle chanson. Comment peut-on alors être optimiste ?

Hello everyone!
I take this opportunity to thank all, friends artists, producers and listeners for your support so exciting and inspiring!

Here is a track which I had already done some time ago and to which I have made some improvements in recent days. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. A great deal of work has been done on the piano, which at the bottom has only one note and I have worked in such a way as to get what you are going to hear. I also wanted to give priority to the drums that occupy an important place in this new track. A first for me, because I'm not a specialist of “Trance Music”, but I tried to approach this genre with as many harmonies and melodies as possible.

Voici une piste que j’avais déjà faite il y a quelques temps et à laquelle j’ai apporté quelques améliorations ces derniers jours. j'espère que vous l'apprécierez autant que moi. Un gros travail a été fait sur le piano qui ne comportait, à la base, qu'une seule note et que j'ai travaillé de façon à obtenir ce que vous allez entendre. J'ai également voulu donner une priorité aux percussions qui occupent une place importante dans cette nouvelle piste. Une première pour moi, car je ne suis pas un spécialiste de la "Trance", mais j'ai essayé d'aborder ce genre avec le plus d'harmonies et de mélodies possible.

To teleport to 60's even faster, when Robert Moog was inventing Model D, I played MiniMoog, Moog Modular (and other synths by Arturia and Korg). Played my blue Fender Strat to signify the times, when Jimi Hendrix was grinding his teeth over his black one. Pushing flowers to the guns with Electronic and Psychedelic Rock is still needed. Imagined all thru my prism of future Deep Disco and Indie Dance vibe. Drums and all prod done in Ableton Live, mastering with IK Multimedia tools.
