lp produced by german underground rap legend taktloss and super
sucessful pop producer dj illvibe. the record is attributed to two
beings called real geizt and splidttercrist, although it's never made
entirely clear whether the voices heard throughout the songs belong to
them or not, because they are only ever mentioned in third person, as if
someone else was describing them. the sound of imitierte signale is -
while instantly recognizable as hip hop - far more removed from the
usual sound of the genre than anything else usually scanning as
experimental or alternative hip hop. it probably compares to other hip
hop like black metal compares to classic heavy metal - not because it
sounds like black metal, but because instead of being aggressive it
evokes a bleak and at the same time meditative atmosphere.
