Killawatt and long-time collaborator Hexham Heads (formerly Ipman) skirt the technoid astral plane with an intense and fast-paced 3-tracker, designed and engineered solely for the floor.

Hypercycle shocks out of the K-hole with headf**k ratcheting metallic synths and chest-inverting kicks. Hyperbolic is a similarly pressurised but more hypnotic affair, combined with a gargantuan low-end roll, dissonant pads, noisy untethered percussion, and meditative bleeps. Finally, Hyperboloid rounds out the release with other-worldly machine vocals, swirling synths, crunchy tops, and taught lows intent on maintaining a focussed intensity through to the end.

KILLAWATT X HEXHAM HEADS - HYPERBOLIC (Full preview from Hypercycle EP - out Nov 5th)

Killawatt’s ‘Sickofrantic’ marks the release of his first solo EP in nearly three years. The intense and inherently claustrophobic textures and dynamics were conceptualised amid the pandemic, reflecting his anxieties during a prolonged shielding period due to illness.

The title track ‘Sickofrantic’ was tailored for the warehouse, a place that seemed alien at the time. Thundering kicks, swirling crunched drum textures, and piercing, nail-biting signals cut straight to the anxiety.

The broken ‘Fugue Status’ begins with anthemic anticipation descending into a wonky, off-kilter bassline overlain with washed-out distant synth work.

‘Yuza Riddim’ is a return to Killawatt’s signature tribal broken drum work with looping cut vocals, tense risers, binaural hats, and breathless panic.

‘Black Air (_22VIP_)’ is a rework of the title track from his first techno release on Osiris. Its instantly recognisable hook builds into a voluptuous, rolling 4/4 drum track letting the central theme speak for itself and providing the perfect set-opener.

Killawatt’s performances in some of the worlds most revered club spaces provide immersion through frenetic beats and dread aesthetics that prevent the most discerning listener from getting too comfortable. The transition from dank half-step to a kinetic technoid mutation is seamless in his productions and DJ sets. Recent abstractions like 'Champagne Prerogative’, ‘Kingston Krak’ and ‘Glacia Systemic’ coalesce a mongrel helix of UK experimentation, industrial techno, ambient constructions and a driving tribalism unique only to himself.
