Tiga lines up the next EP on his Turbo sub label, Twin Turbo and in doing so follows up a string of successful records from the likes of Harvard Bass, Phil Kieran and Zombie Nation with a bold and driving EP from Dirtybird and Hypercolour affiliate - Kill Frenzy. Throughout his catalogue, the Belgian born and Berlin based producer has melded rich atmospherics with potent drums and infectious vocal samples and this - his ‘Crystal Seed’ EP is one fans both old and new will relish. 

The title track kicks things off with warped, tubular bass tone set tumbling under brash hats and a piercing clap. Nifty drum fills punctuate progress as filters drive towards a rapturous crescendo before ‘Follow Me’ sets pitched vocals and scattered 808 hats off to a menacing march. Drums are given a distinct Turbo feel as they’re deftly flanged and overdriven and set atop a swelling bass groove that rolls until the close of another fine addition to the Twin Turbo catalogue.

Kill Frenzy debuted on dirtybird with the label anthem of last year "Make that Booty Clap featuring DJ Funk". To have a track that gets played by everyone all the way from Soul Clap to Skrillex shows Kill Frenzy's ability to bridge the gap between genres, cliques and crews around the world. This new EP pushes even further into that original sound. To be able to combine footwork, breaks, techno &amp; dubstep and make it all playable in house DJ sets is a big achievement and Kill Frenzy seems to have claimed this new genre all for himself. We have to give credit to co-producer of "Go To The Mo" dirtybird's long time friend Sacha Robotti working with KF on the A side, but there is no denying this new talent from Belgium and we are really excited to have Kill Frenzy be a part of dirtybird. It also makes me happy that after 8 years some of that San Francisco dirt is breaking through to places like Belgium other countries in Europe outside of the UK.

RELEASE INFOS:

Sacha Robotti returns to Klasse Recordings with The Big Ol EP, this time showing a penchant for garage grooves, ghetto drums and great samples. Remixes come via Dance Mania legend Waxmaster Maurice and Raw House rookie Dudley Strangeways.
The Big Ol makes it's intention clear from the very start, this is a fun track with big grooves, high energy and a dose of humour to top it all off. Sacha combines drum machine lines with big band stabs and his signature reverb work to create a big party track thats guaranteed to set the roof on fire.

If there was ever an artist who deserved the whole 'no introduction needed' spiel it could easily be Dance Mania superstar Waxmaster Maurice. Maurice turns in a stomping ghetto house version, its frantic pace clocking in at three and half minutes. Using the original track as inspiration, Waxmaster uses his inimitable vocal style to coin new hooks and essentially create a whole new track.

Baldeelocks retains the Garage swing of the title track but heads into a whole new direction, pitched up drums and snare stabs sit on top of swathing string lines that pull the listener in. Once again, Mr. Robotti's sound-design production is the focal piece of the track, two beautiful breakdowns with detailed and considered work on the vocal parts that come in and out of the track.

We have been keeping a close eye on Dudley Strangeways for a while now and its a pleasure to welcome him to the Klasse crew. For his remix of Baldeelocks, Dudley strips everything down to its core, adding weight to the relentless beat of the drums. Drenching the FX in reverb and mixing in discordant patterns of vocals and pads, the remix provides the perfect fodder for those early hour after parties where only the strangest will do.

Joe Brunning’s latest single, ‘Blow Your House Down’ has been the strong follow up to ‘Now Let Me See You Work’ and it delivers on a grand scale.  With an acid tinged baseline, sharp metallic drums, and a voice that is low and heavy, this record, when played at the right time, will cause destruction on the dancefloor.  This is an extremely limited promo and with heavy support coming in already from Carl Cox when he debuted this track at StereoSonic Festival in Australia, reactions are a must on this one. Having nurtured the precious and insular little flower that is Youandewan over the course of a number of remixes and headline slots at their own label parties around the world, Hypercolour now allow Leeds based Ewan Smith to flourish into his first full release in more than a year.

Appropriately arriving on the cultured HypeLTD, the four tracks find him moping in dreamy
melodies, lazy underwater beats and soothing circular rhythms.

Opener ‘Disarray’ features the producer’s trademark knocking beats under liquid synths that
plunge down into melancholy before rising up through the horizon like a mid-winter sun. A
female coo adds more heavy heartedness in the subtlest of ways and Smith manages to coax
some sweet sadness from his TR303 before ‘Awn’ stands a bit more proud. The pads are lush,
the 707 percussion feather light and the beats splutter and stutter as another deft sample adds
an element of heavenly vocal purity.

On the flip, ‘Undrstnd’ has a bed of buried deep kicks à la Fred P, the light dusting of percussion
comes from off in the distance and eventually an untethered, oversized square bassline sprays
about and starts a chain reaction where pools of synths implode and explode in vast underwater
caves. ‘0500’ is another of Smith’s more direct cuts, frictionless kick-clap combos echo off to
infinity below you as panning, spiralling synths and lush splashes of hi hats work to suspend you right in the midst of it all. On the cusp of breaking through since forever, this EP will likely be the assured sonic statement that sees Youandewan properly enter the discerning public’s conscious at large.

Ms. smooth SoCal soul meets Mr. NoCal dirtybird swagger and they have a baby together. That baby is Justin Jay and at 20 years old he is already making his 4th appearance on dirtybird. 

I have a feeling this is Justin Jay's breakout record. The A-side "Static" is at 118 BPM and will sweep you up then rip your pants off. But even when you get hit with the massive bassline, an old school anchor stays intact.  "Waves" B-side has a classic deep dirtybird feeling, with tuned 808's and a surprising melodic element showing off the sweeter side of this up and coming young gun. Justin Jay has more potential than anyone I've heard in a while and if he continues to play like he has been lately, he has a long DJ career ahead of him as well.
