Goodbye To You was written 3 years ago about the appalling suffering of families during the internal war in Syria, and references how the 1st world watched through news feeds and social media as the disaster unfolded, expressing comments of sadness and horror, then moving on to the next entertainment buzz, or fashion tip, effectively doing nothing for the suffering of those people.  Governments also stand by, more concerned about the ‘black gold’ of oil than they are about any humanitarian disaster.  It’s strange that this song is as relevant now, as when it was written.
