“My passion for electronic music started at a young age. When my dad played music at home or in the car it was often dark, electronic music from late 60s end 70s (The Art of Noise, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, etc). The moment I knew I was hooked for life was at the age of 11 when I was looking for a tutorial of a videogame on youtube (still in the very beginning of YouTube around 2006). The background-sound was ‘Ten Seconds Before Sunrise’ from Tiësto, and I fucking loved it.
This kind of music gives me an emotional rush I can not explain. Digging deeper in to the Trance genre made me familiar with Hardtrance and Hardstyle. Whilst everyone at my age was going into Dubstep and Drum and Bass parties, I started going out to Hardstyle-parties at the age of 16. 

The last two hours of a Hardstyle-event were often actually Hardcore. Me as an energetic ADHD-guy absolutely loved the hard and fast-paced kicks. Going to hardcore-events quickly made my underground, musical view wider. It was only a logical step, afterwards I got familiar with Hard Techno (Schranz), Acid-Core and Tekno. 

Whilst the Hardcore, Hardstyle and Trance-world got more and more commercial, I prefered Acid-Core and Tekno-events of Free-parties more and more. Raving brought me all over Europe for festivals, clubs or Free-parties and made me feel an absolutely free person.

If I go to a pub or a commercial club, I have the need to grab myself a beer every 5 minutes or walk and talk around the whole time. At a rave I can run to the front and dance for four hours straight without having to talk to anyone. I have the feeling that in a rave everyone can be theirself without judgement or trouble.

It was only when I moved to the university of Ghent at an older age when I discovered Techno. When I was younger, Techno was to slow for me but now I am absolutely loving it.  As result of the pandemic and its lockdown-period, I started DJ’ing and producing.”
