On his second isenkram album Jacob Funch explores fresh musical territories letting his sound develop in more free and electronic ways. Inspired by 90's ambient with a pinch of modern funk these cosmic tracks seem to both soothe and flourish with filtered arpeggios and polyrythmic grooves. Distant handclaps and syncopated kicks take the wheel while piano solos and alienated vocal samples roam the passenger seats. On this retro-futuristic ride the listener might be heading blissfully towards the morning sun but there is rumbling thunder and rain all around.
