Lost in Space With no Name - Chicaiza

Cheda Ray is an Electronic producer from Berlin living in London. Now you expect a raving biography about him; then here you go: 

The 1980’s were the most influential period in his life when his father used to record the newest hits from Saturdays 80’s chart radio. Pieces of magnetic tape from the old tape machines were lying everywhere only to get glued together after cutting all the Radio DJ’s voice overs. 

From there music crept into his life beat by beat. During schooldays he took over the first student discos and later in the 90’s he has got the first Resident Gigs in the legendary nightclub ‘Miami’ in Germany. On each Sunday there were more than 2000 dancing Ravers and Clubbers making the ‘Afterhour’ one of the best shows of this kind in the whole country. 

Progressive House, Techno or House did establish permanently in his sets and brought him reputation from the East of Berlin to the north of Hamburg. Since then electronic music has changed dramatically but the fundamental repertoire never left his record cases. And yet today he is searching for the special track whether bought or produced to make the crowd go through the roof! 

On the production side he is a big fan of Steinberg’s Cubase which he uses since he moved his studio to London in 2012. The growing Techno and Minimal scene of Berlin separated him from the cities spirit when he was looking for a more global connection for his own musical expression in Progressive House music.

To say that the London via Madrid raised Max Pietrangeli (Pietra) was born into house music would be no overstatement. His disc-jockey dad was heavily influenced by the sounds of London & Ibiza in the 90s and early 2000s and brought his family to the island every summer throughout Max's youth. He eventually taught a 12-year-old Max the art of mixing on a sturdy Traktor s4 controller, used for numerous teenage-ridden house parties. 

Fast-forward to today and 25-year old Max has had the pleasure of spinning at renowned clubs such as XOYO, Motion Bristol, Phonox, Night Tales, and the late Moles Bath to name a few. 

In 2021, he became an event manager and resident DJ for the Bath & London-based @Originssound parties. He is now based in Brussels, Belgium where he is working to carve out a name for himself in a bustling and fast-growing local music scene. 

Pietra has had the privilege of sharing a lineup with the likes of Nightmares on Wax & Folamour, in addition to warming up for the likes of Chaos in the CBD, Mall Grab, Dan Shake, Peach, Todd Terje and Adam Pits.
