making these mixes is truly a cathartic release for me. I had planned to release this mix in the winter (as I’ve done with the last two) but I suppose I’ve had a lot more to process this time around. this past year and a half has been a monumentally difficult ride for me, and most of us for sure. having pretty much everything I’ve worked towards musically come to a complete halt, I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on this life. there’s been some good moments, but as with the duality of life there’s been some serious lows. i’ve struggled to feel inspired to work on anything music related over this pandemic. and witnessing the state of our planet every day pushed me to the edge many times and I got lost in the grips of addiction. it’s been a rollercoaster to say the least. but over the last 6 months I’ve since overcome many of my demons and put my energy in to healing myself in a lot of ways. i’ve decided to release this mix the day before my 29th birthday, and to close out a heavy chapter of darkness in my life. I know we’ve all been struggling through this pandemic bullshit but there’s always a silver lining in any difficult time if you look for it. music is medicine and being able to share songs that hit me in the heart gives me a sense of purpose. stay up my friends. much love.
